"Oba: The Last Samurai" is adapted from Don Jones' "Oba Sakae, The Last Samurai: Saipan 1944-1945" documentary novel based on the war film directed by Japanese director Hideyuki Hirayama, Takeno Uchito, Mao Inoue, Takayuki Yamada Starring, Tang Ze Shouming, Shane McGowan and others. The film tells that on June 15, 1944, on Saipan, a fierce fighting area during the Pacific War, a Japanese army with only 47 men faced an American army with 45,000 troops.
