Cant beat technology for analyzing..I havent found a free download app that works for lefties thou. The straighter back knee is better for distance with added turn but can get stuck and not transfer your weight properly to the front if trying too hard. Great explanations 👍

Another very helpful video. I think what had been occurring was a basic issue with my alignment to the target line. Always being closed. This led to hip pain. Getting to the top and then thrusting forward fast was forcing my hip out of alignment towards the target. I've been doing mock swings with my hip against a wall which has helped. I think I've noticed that the right leg should just be dropped back from where the rest of the body is. Any feedback on this? In Gratitude, Robert

Hi Rob, I just read the book (Plummer/Bennet) for the second time. Discovered the drill where you start the swing with a straight back leg and keep it straight through the Entire swing. Big surprice for me! Maybe a tip for a video? Arne, Norway

Rob, another great video...Question: is there any specific drill I can work on to help me " quiet down " my knees a bit during my golf swing ...thanks

Thanks Rob, Always something new we golfers can work on to improve our swings. I've been playing for almost 40 years and continue to change my swing every year. I'm a better golfer now at 59 than I was at 30. Equipment and knowledge has gotten better over the years, all golfers should try to keep up. I hope to shoot my age some day, If I live long enough. (lol)

When I change flex in the knees can I use different flex for driver and iron's. Are between longer and shorter clubs?

Thank you so much because it totally validates what I am now teaching. Hogan said we start the downswing with our knees and hips. Actually the entire swinging of the club as Moe Norman said involves alternating between the two knees. All great players are doing this Alternating with our knees ( starting our backswing with our lead knee flexing towards our trail leg and then start our our downswing with our trail knee flexing towards our lead leg) works best because our femur bones each has a ball that moves nicely inside our hips two sockets joints which connects our upper body to our lower body and keep our hips rotating back and forth perfectly and continuously throughout our swinging the club. This allows our trail thigh muscles to turn opposite of our upper torso muscles thus creating tremendous torque at the top of our swing. Hogan should have been more specific to say: “Start the downswing with the trail knee moving towards the lead leg.” And then with the coiling of the body; the body releases itself and the club practically swings itself. Believe me at 74 I wish I knew 40 years ago this anatomical absolutes that is specific to the golf swing. It works! Cheers

@@golftecasia I could discuss golf for hours and would love to find a great teacher on You Tube who could teach the simple mechanics we can all apply in our golf swing. Might this be you? Your next video sounds great as long as you include the entire pelvis with the hip movement. I might add I also see my upper arms as a ball and socket wench that ratchet the muscles of my rib cage to turn one way while my trail thigh muscles are being ratcheted in the opposite direction. As you may know inside our body our muscles can only pull. And our bones responds by pushing only. This creates the stored up energy for our downswing Our upper body muscles and lower body muscles actually opposes the other to creat the coiling of our backswing. This is why I firmly believe we all must start our downswing with the releasing of our thighs muscles that can only start with the flexing of our trail knee towards our lead leg. This one action quickly sends enough elastic energy from our body to our club head to send it in orbit to the finish of its journey at the end of our swing. All done from start to finish in under 1 and a half second. Cheers

Hi. For how long we stay on P6, with the lead knee flexed. I tend to have it turning over and out the leed ankle quite much.

Rob, great video. Can you comment on whether or not the swing center moves up or down with the knees flexing and extending throughout the swing? Feels like this adds some challenge to finding a consistent swing bottom. Thanks!

Rob during initiation of the downswing, are you pushing the trail foot off the ground? I'm thinking that could be a good action to propel my weight forward which I have some difficulty doing in the downswing. Many thanks Rob.

Great video as usual Rob. I'm 71 and a little overweight. I find if I pull my right foot back a little I can get a better turn. Would this be basically accomplishing the same thing as straightening of the right leg? Thanks very much for all your valuable input.

Just found your Channel and i am watching a lot of your Videos. Very well explained! One question: in your normal swing it doesnt really look like you keep your weight forward. You definetly dont sway, but are you shifting pressure to rear side in the backswing?

What an eye opening video! The information you provided here is really something no one discussed before - at least not in a s&t world. I’m not afraid to say that it will change the way we understand s&t swing! At least that’s how I see it. Let me give you my example: I’ve been practicing s&t for a year. I’m a 6 hcp and got my iron game close to perfection (at least at my level). Very long, neutral path (below 2 deg. in-out or out-in depending on shot shape I wanted). However I was struggling with woods and my driver consistency so last month all I’ve been practicing was a wood game. I noticed that a big turn (did not realized that this resulted in leg straightening) allowed me to play consistent long draws so I concentrated on this move. Unfortunately it killed my iron play. Suddenly my irons path numbers were 7-10 in-out which resulted in hooks. Fades were impossible to achieve. Today morning I hit a few iron shuts with my trail leg keeping some flex, the result : immediately my path is around 2 deg. In-out! I believe that your instructions saved my swing! Keep it going. How about a video on a lead knee bend in back and downswing? Greetings from Poland!
