Timurid is Turkic Empire Page -194- ^ Timour was the son of Teragay Nevian. He gives the following account of his lineage, in his memoirs :-" My father told me that we were descendants from Abu-al-Atrak (father of the Turks) the son of Japhet. His fifth son, Aljeh Khan, had twin sons, Tatar and Mogul, who placed their feet on the paths of infidelity. Turaene Khan had a son Kabul, whose son, Munga Bahadur, was the father of Temugin, small estate, with not more than three or four mounted attendants. He lived iu a village, near this city of Kesh, for the men of this land prefer living in the villages, and in the plains, to living in cities. His son, also, had not more than four or five horses. I will now tell you, what was told to the ambassadors, as certain truth in this city, and in other parts. It is said that Timour, having four or five servants, went out one day to steal a sheep, and on another day a cow, by force, from the people of the country. When he had got them, be ate them with his followers ; and some because of the plunder, others because he was a brave and good hearted man, joined him, until he had a force of three hundred mounted followers. From that time be traversed the country, to rob and steal all he could lay hands on, for himself and bis companions, and he also frequented the roads, and plundered the merchants.' Narrative of the embassy of Ruy Gonzalez de Clavijo to the court of Timour at Samarcand, A.D. 1403-6 by González de Clavijo, Ruy, d. 1412; Markham, Clements R. (Clements Robert), Sir, 1830-1916 ed Page -130- On Saturday, the 12th of April, the Emperor of TrebizonJ sent for the ambassadorSj and when they ai-rivcd at his palace, they found him in a saloon, which was in an upper story ; and he received them very well. After they had spoken with him, they returned to their lodging. With the emperor was his son, who was about twenty-five years of age ; and the emperor was tall and handsome. The emperor and his son were dressed in imperial robes. They wore, on their heads, tall hats surmounted by golden cords, on the top of which were cranes' feathers; and the hats were bound with the skins of martens. They call the emperor Germanoli,' and his son Quelex -^ and they call the son emperor as well as the father, because it is the custom to call the eldest legitimate son emperor, although his father may be alive; and the Greek name for emperor, is Basilens. This emperor pays tribute to Timour Beg, and to other Turks, who are his neighbours. He is married to a relation of the Emperor of Constantinople, and his son is married to the daughter of a knight of Constantinople, and has two little daughters."

Fun fact that I learned while studying on my own. Oljeitu moved the capital from Tabriz to a city he built names Soltaniyeh There he began building a massive domed tomb for himself, and the city is a World Herirtage Site, with the grand tomb still standing. Soltaniyeh is a tiny city now, mostly due to the collapse of the Ilkhanate and the sheer amount of destruction Timur brought upon Iran, but I find its story fascinating.

I love kings & generals, this video I appreciated very greatly. I hope you will pardon me saying; I found the scene 16:00 with the floating faces & narration stand-alone, a bit less well set-out than the rest of the content. In this scene several new locations & characters were introduced. The scene also suggests to the potential fracturing or factioning of the kingdom; but no diagraphic or location, or informative graphic to display it. This is not me saying I did not love the video. 15mins of video across 3 ages would have been a lions fill already, and the quick turn over of rulers who didnt have singular power period was fair to speed through. I just felt interested in conflict mentioned in 16:00 but the video was probably wrapping up & I understand that. Keep it up kings & generals team, I have watched all of your videos. I hope this feedback doesn't reach you in a bad way.

It should be more background on Hasan Kucheck or Hasan the small, the real Tyrion Lannister: The guy was a dwarf, convinced their brothers that his father was alive( he used a bastard son for the scam). He scammed another khan candidate with the tale of marring Stai Beg, TWICE.And he created a stable kingdom for himself, but was killed by a jealous wife, and his kingdom passed to his psychotic brother...

You did not say a word about Sabzevar revolt and the uprising against Mongols. In persian it is called sarbedar rebellion. The armed resistance of persians that lead to the collapse of ilkhanate. It's a very exciting story full of details, hollywood level stuff.

Choban means Shepherd in Turkic languages. Kadin is a title (lady) today it means woman in most Turkic languages. Bagdat Kadin was a Chad. Killing the dude who not only killed her family just so he could have her, but also then wanted her little niece. What kind of sbhuman would kill the man who practically raised him and fought side by side with him, and his entire family just because he lists for his daughter.

@@mrxmry7763 Khan and Khatun are both Turkic in origin not Mongolian. The video was full of other Turkic words and titles I just gave up after a while editing the comment. The reason for this isn't Mongols influencing Turks as much as Mongols being influenced by Turks. The Mongol army consisted largely of Turkic people. Which is why when the ilkhanid shattered it shattered into Turkic not Mongol states and empires. Which is why Mongol rulers had so many wife's with Khatun as a title despite not using the title Khatun themselves. The Mongols were extremely easy to adopt foreign culture as their own or to be influenced by it. From Turkic religion and culture in the steppes, to Persian, Arab in the west and Chinese in the East. Even Ghenghis Khans real name "Timurjin" is a Turkic name meaning Ironsmith. Before the mongol empire Turks claimed legitimacy by claiming Ashina blood. After Ghenghis Khan, for a long time Turkic khans sought legitimacy by claiming to have some Cenghizid ancestry.
