Micheal was born in America and was working as a financial advisor for about 8 years but he always knew he wanted to travel more. One day he went on a trip with some friends to Medillin Colombia which changed his life. He met a lot of digital nomads in Colombia and he fell in love with their lifestyle. They didn't have to drive in traffic to clock into a job, they had location freedom and how much they earned depended solely on them.
Micheal decided to start his own business so that he could live there too. After doing some research he came across Sean Rakidzich's and learned about rental arbitrage. He ran the numbers and his only question was "why are more people not doing this?" when he saw the earning potential.
In just 5 months Micheal Morrison was able to scale his short-term rental business in Colombia to 26 properties and last month he profited $18k. Earning $18k is great even here in the states but he earns that while living in Colombia. Micheal says that the U.S. dollar has at least 3X the buying power of the Colombian peso. This means that he is able to afford things like his beautiful high-rise apartment very comfortably.
In this interview, he breaks down exactly how he was able to scale his Airbnb business in Colombia. I hope you enjoy it!
