@Labbfreak

I think their audiences can be predominantly or solely women AND the watch time and engagement be due to how women are held to a higher standard. I think many of us can probably think of antidotal examples of more senior women enforcing the status quo on junior women, often more harshly then their male peers or how more extreme patriarchal social structures depend on the enforcement of gender roles by women as much or maybe more so than men (thinking of religious fundamentalists).

Actually, schools in Canada are not ranked the same way as the US. Overall rankings actually are not important and we do not have Ivy League schools. Greater consideration is placed on programs at each school rather than the school’s overall performance. Employers don’t typically look at which school candidates attend but typically focus on experience.
@durcheinander5554

Makes complete sense to me as a European. We have rankings, but generally as long as the university is state-funded, it will be quite good. And yes, you heard that right. State funded, FREE education is on a higher level here because more people apply, so only people with good fundamentals get in. Private universities are generally for people who didn't get into a public one. Plus there is no incentive for a public school to let things slide on the basis of the student being a paying customer

I was going to mention this too - yes, technically schools are ranked in Canada but their ranking is pretty much never taken into account (unless you're an international student who doesn't understand that). @@durcheinander5554it's the same in Canada! Our universities aren't completely state-funded so they're not free, but fully private universities are the schools that people go to when they couldn't get into a public university (or it's a scam for international students who don't know any better). The state schools are always better and when you're applying for jobs private universities are looked down on

Not related to this topic in particular but I did want to say thank you so much for speaking out about advocating for yourself in the healthcare industry. I had just watched some of your videos about dealing with chronic illness and was about to send to my provider a very passive "Sure I mean not a big deal I can wait" message When I thought of your video and decided to be much more blunt and direct with the symptoms I was dealing with and that I needed help NOW. I was able to get the help that I needed because I was willing to, frankly, talk like a man and not the way women are conditioned to people please. So thank you for being a reminder of the need to advocate for yourself in the healthcare space.

I don’t think he was hating on Nara’s lifestyle choices, considering he even said in that video his mother was a SAHM and he deeply respects it. I think he was criticizing how dangerous it is that she glorifies a Mormon tradwife lifestyle to millions of young women/girls and is leading them down a potentially dangerous path (financial dependence on a man, being part of a racist/misogynistic religion, etc.) Nara’s content is very regressive to women and their rights within society, despite it having a pretty exterior.
@StateofKait

Except she’s not Mormon (she has explicitly said this) and she’s not a tradwife. She’s a working mother, which by definition means she is not a tradwife so his point doesn’t stand. She’s glamorous, yes, but she hate she gets for cooking while dolled up is confusing to me when there are hundreds of actual tradwives (mostly white) who promote a harmful lifestyle while capitalizing on social media exposure. Nara isn’t doing that. So to say that she uses the most dark and psychologically manipulative tactics he’s ever seen is simply a marketing tactic on HIS part to drum up views. Its gross.
@butterflybe2230
2 күн бұрын
@@StateofKait She has never claimed she isn't Mormon - she said she's just not a strict Mormon because she didn't get married in a temple. She has never denounced Mormonism or claimed she isn't one. It's also not clear to her audience that she actually works which makes it even more harmful - young women and girls are lead to believe she just stays home cooking/cleaning/being reliant on her husband financially when she actually has her own career. Bee Better talked about this in the video. I don't like him, but he was correct about many things in that video. Women like Nara who glamorize a traditional lifestyle (even if they have their own sources of income - Ballerina Farm is another example of this) are having a negative influence on women and their rights in society. We already don't have enough women getting education, in the workforce and holding positions of power. These women hold a lot of influence and the lifestyles they are promoting are what keep women oppressed. Nara and Ballerina Farm may have their own sources of income, but the millions of women they are influencing to stay home cooking, cleaning and rearing children will not.

One of the most satisfying and liberating things I ever did was quit my job to stay home and raise my three children. It’s not clear to me why you think that’s oppressive. Yes. He still managed to always put his family first. I’m 68. I came of age in the 70’s. I’ve never felt like I was held back by men or the patriarchy or whatever. I have a college degree and I felt free to pursue whatever path I wanted. I only played a short clip because I don't want to spread the misinformation. The video was full racist and misogynistic microaggressions and you're welcome to watch the TikToks I linked in the description box to understand how his content was harmful and not factual.

I dont like him particularly and negativity platform but agree with his take on Harris! Too many lies and people need to really fact check it all! Just my seriously neurodivergent view from being a history nut!! ASD/ADHD☮️💟🕊️

She's much better than Trump, if that's the alternative you're suggesting?

This isn’t my favourite content but I chose to watch this video anyway because I absolutely love hearing you talk and wanted to open myself up to something different. But to be absolutely honest this probably won’t become my favourite content but that’s fine, I might still watch those sometimes, just wanted to share my thoughts ❤

Absolutely cannot stand the tiktok text to speech voice, so I had to tap out around 24 mins, but great video, nonetheless!

Wow, this was good. I knew nothing about this guy. I'm not going to lie. He got immediately under my skin. I don't know whether he's being paid by the Trump team as you said we probably never will. But I'm guessing he's over particular mindset and he had a real bias that led him to make that video. It's interesting that in the debate Trump brought up the keystone pipeline, which only benefited, but which was also an environmental pariah.
