The fact that DJ can get out of bed let alone lift like that with all of his injuries is crazy. Put in a lot of the correct work. Good shit

The only thing about having that much muscle is that it is really not for prolonged action... Nothing wrong with that, if you are Spec Ops, direct action oriented.... Get in, get violent and get out... But for "regular” Infantry and even some spec ops groups that are Tier 3 or Tier 2 adjacent where you are in a combat environment consistently for days or weeks or months at a time, eating out of a bag, sleeping on the ground or in a fighting hole, never getting any real recovery time then it is more important to have good cardio over massive muscles which require a lot of oxygen and calories to keep... That's why a lot of Marine Infantry tend to be leaner than Spec Ops guys... Different missions require different, but somewhat similar, abilities..... Plus, I always wanted to present the enemy withas small a target as possible! 😁

You’ve obviously never worked with a high performance conditioning coach. Listening to “gym talk” from people who don’t know shit can hurt you. I was Intel support to a platoon for 4 years (rarely went on mission but always ready since I was a qualified interrogator) and I can tell you, these boys spend SO MUCH extra time on mission waiting for T2/T3 units to “regroup” as they cry on the sides of mountains in AFG while my boys were scouting enemy positions it wasn’t even funny. You need that muscle and cardiovascular endurance to carry the combat load of a modern troop.

@@gouldnj not sure what you're trying to say... when I was in Iraq in '03 I was lean, about 150-ish, and I never had any problems carrying gear on mission... I was Marine Infantry then and I did 6 years as a Grunt before I went to the Army Nasty Guard... I did 10 years as a Grunt and did another tour of Iraq w/ the Guard.... the missions we ran didn't require as much muscle mass as they did cardio; we weren't weak, but strength was not our main focus, in either branch... but I wasn't a high speed Intel weenie waiting to actually do something, so I could be wrong about what I actually experienced.....
