Great thing you did do... kept the sales to the description. You didn't pause every 5 seconds to tell the viewer what product you were using. This vid is very useful for any amateur to detailing. Thank you. Indeed we did miss to mention that part as we thought it best to go into this in depth in a later video, so much detail for people new to the hobby to pick up on and the use of multiple buckets we find only causes more investment and confusion initially. i think its good practice to do the wheels first!
@TheDetailHunters
6 жыл бұрын
In certain cases we would tend to agree yes, however if the vehicle is heavily soiled like this was we always find it best to do wheels after you have carried out a full pre wash and snowfoam so that as much soiling is removed from the wheels as possible during the pre wash stage, allowing the wheel cleaner to simply target those areas that a pre wash can not remove. In short, you dont end up wasting the wheel cleaners effectiveness on soiling that could be washed away with simple cleaning methods. Totally dependant on the job in hand and in some cases it can be best to tackle the wheels first as you say. All down to how you feel comfortable really and there is no right or wrong way around this stage :) Always nice to hear others views also, thanks for sharing. In the instance of a safe wash also we would 100% do wheels before snow foaming, or during its dwell.
@Roughdraft214
6 жыл бұрын
I do it both ways. I will say though when I foam first and then clean tires I feel I release more dirt and that brown stain that’s in them. So it just depends on how dirty the car is to me.

Is snow foam necessary? Or the tar remover? I'm new to the business and I'm just curious if it's worth it. I do want to give my customers the best, but could I still achieve that same result without it? Maybe at least for now? Just curious! Great video by the way. The overall steps were laid out orderly but maybe can I somehow streamline the process to get more cars done in a day? Any suggestions for that too would be great! I would greatly appreciate the feedback! I really want to do a great job. Thanks!

If you're running a business then the snow foam/foam cannon is a must have! It gets most the dirt off the car before you start your hands on wash. The tar remover in my opinion is not that necessary. I only use it on occasions. Hope this helps.

Maksem Productions works fine if you don’t want to touch your car but can take long in my experience. I normally only use it for hard to reach areas and when I’m going to wax or apply a sealant and I don’t want water running down the crevasses later while I’ve got the polisher going, ruining the sealant/wax. Oh and my opinion on waxing the glass, paste wax leaves a haze, liquid works, but I usually only treat the front windshield and use a dedicated rain repellent. I feel they last longer.

I guess with a expensive BMW. You do all those levels on the paint. My detail is vacuuming the inside carpets after taking out the mats. Detailing the inside door panels and and jams. Then the dash and vents. Clean the inside windows. Pull the car around the front of the house. Clean mats and hose off. Rinse car down. Clean tires and rims. Soap car down. Hand wash all panels. Rinse! Put the Meguiars Ceramic Hybird wax on a still wet car. Let it set on car for 5 minutes. Hose car down to activate the wax. Wipe car down with Microfiber towel till dry. Use detailing spray wipe down whole car again. Wipe down Door jams for water. Put on tire dressing on. Clean outside windows. Look over car inside and out. Put car mats back in. Call owner to pick up car. Go over car with customer. To see if they like your work. Or if they want more attention to a certain area. Sit in chair and drink beer. With money in hand! Shawn

If this is the case, I am wondering how these steps might be changed for a ceramic coated vehicle. Obviously you would not do the polishing step, but I am wondering if there are any other alterations to the process you would have? Some sort of ceramic coat protector at the end? Subbed mostly because of the video its how it should be done if you have the time, but some people missed the " We do not advise following this tutorial for every wash" which I thought was a pretty important part of your video . The other reasons are your outstandingly polite cynical replies that go over a lot of our cousins heads plus the patience you displayed towards the rude and very ignorant trolls . To be honest I haven't tried any of your products but that will change . Just had a look through your shop and some things caught my attention. Above all I like the fact you are all petrol heads and practice what you preach . Which is always good news . I'll be in touch soon ,getting a new car so you know what that means . It's a point of pride to make the car look better than the dealer did and correct their cock up lol . Take care . Regards from Manchester . Darren

I think you express yourself very well . Professional comes to mind but people seem to forget that you are in fact involved in detailing to make money in so far as anything you do is done for a reason . The detailing community in the UK is relatively small and news of a bad detail or product becomes common knowledge quickly. People fail to see this so don't understand the lengths you go to too make sure what you sell and do are 100% correct . It just burns my ass when people mouth off who have little idea and practically no know-how and troll the Pros . Thanks for the welcome Darren

You mentioned 15 stages to washing a car and the second bucket was left out because the video was too long? I do apologize but I don't think there was even a second bucket.
@TheDetailHunters

Abdullah Al-Munim I certainly would not class the 'two bucket method' as the most important thing to mention. What use is it to use a second bucket if you do not carry out a thorough pre wash? If you were to not carry out a well drilled pre wash but you used two buckets you think it would be fine? No. The video is for beginners, there are so many other pointers that we could of included that are considerably more important than using a second bucket but as I have already mentioned the video would have become quite long. We already have a blog that covers this step in detail plus have an extra video drafted up ready for editing that will cover this step. For the record, we have 3 buckets and use them regularly also.

Why wouldn’t you rinse after the prewash and before the snow foam ? Plus is it safe for water to be near diesel/petrol cap in case water gets in the tank ? Thanks

Good video, but it could have gone without that grey filter when the text was on screen, I don't know how or why but it kinda gave me a headache.

Glad you liked the video. Strange how it gives you a head ache, we find it actually helps to reduce stress on the eyes when reading. Guess we are all different. :) Maybe we can look for a slightly different way to dull the video down when we do overlays on a future video and see if it helps you then? Always prepared to help.

I think maybe it's that the image I'm seeing is being desaturated/less contrast, and re-saturated/more contrast, and my brain just can't handle it. It might have affected me differently as it was 2 a.m. and I was tired but who knows. But anyways thanks for considering other options :D

Pro tip: wash the wheels first Pro tip #2: make sure that your car NEEDS a clay bar. If it doesn’t need to be clayed, DONT do it.

would totally agree on these 2 tips.. We always rinse the wheels first to "clean" the wheels from brakedust etc. afterwards we work on the wheels to get em real clean before we even wash. Second tip is a good one and i made that mistake when i started (ended up scratching and we had to polish even though the paint was 2 months old, which i didnt know soo thats why u dont always need to claybar...)

Washing up liquid is actually very good to strip old sealant / wax. Most car shampoo are designed to not take off the wax.
