HOW CAN I PROTECT MYSELF GOING FORWARD? #databreach
Avoiding data breaches entirely can be tricky in our ever-digitized world, but consumers can take some steps to help protect themselves going forward.
1. Reset your AT&T Account passwords. Use strong passwords, between 10-15 characters, including uppercase, lowercase, numbers, and symbols. #password
2. Enable Multifactor Authentication on all accounts. This feature provides a second layer of protection that requires an additional code to access your personal accounts. Most financial institutions are required to provide this feature.
3. Freeze your credit. Security freezes, also known as credit freezes, restrict access to your credit file, making it harder for identity thieves to open new accounts in your name. A federal law passed on September 21, 2018, allows you to freeze and unfreeze your credit file for free. You also can get a free freeze for your children who are under 16. #creditscore

4. Watch eMails & Texts: Keep an eye on your email and text messages for suspicious emails that may be phishing attempts. These emails can look very authentic. When it doubt send it to the spam or junk folder.
