I liked the way you explain on each of the concepts, I hope that you do more WP videos including plugin or woocommerce development

Thank you for your extremely informative and well delivered video! I would love to see a follow-up on browser sync and how it relates to the more scoped gulp function import. It seems browsersync wants us to pull in the entire gulp via const gulp = require(‘gulp’) instead of declaring parts of the object, but this is a bit over my head at the moment. Anyway, thank you again!

I'll just add a little clarification. On Windows, Gulp must also be installed globally and set in the Windows environment variables to allow execution of its commands.

Thanks, super useful. Anything on streamlining wp dev using bootstrap and sass is helpful. Is parcel better than gulp? How would you go about including a range of js frameworks into the theme, for example, @fancyapps/ui?

Hey PR, I ran through everything in the gulp version, got the sass compiling. The JS is compiling but the local WP site isn't reading the JS it seems? No errors anywhere. Any tips?

Difficult to tell without seeing your code. Put your project up on a github repo and paste in the URL (make sure the repo is public).

How did you get Wordpress files on vs code?

Well, the first two options worked and for the most part, the Gulp setup worked--almost. After installing Gulp and running it as gulp, I got a restricted error in my Windows. A quick look online with the error, the solutions were to install Gulp-cli and I also had to unrestrict my Windows PowerShell. I did that and then gulp worked. However, my setup was exactly like yours and once I did the gulp buildStyles, it did not create my main.css file in /assets/dist/css/. I went back and redid everything 3 times. Once again, gulp buildStyles did not create the main.css file in /assets/dist/css/ even after the noted successful build in 25ms. So, for me, the tutorial ended with option 3 using Gulp. I'm also changing my Windows PowerSheild back to Restricted (much safer) and removing gulp-cli. I'm not sure if others encountered this point in the tutorial, but for me, three times, it's simply not creating that main.css file.

Put your code up on a github repository and I'll have a look for you. Send me the repo URL once that's done - be sure to make the repo public. It I download the repo and it builds correctly for me, then it might be down to something with your local setup, most probably a difference between Windows and Mac (my system).

@@pixelrocket66 Fast response...thanks! I was working on a local WordPress theme when I thought I would implement your options. However, before I do anything, I think I will try it with just a basic HTML project like you did. If I run into similar issues as I did previously, I will then do the GitHub repo as requested. Although, I've never used GitHub before, so I will have to give myself a crash course. It's a couple hours from the New Year, so I will do this tomorrow--By the way, Happy New Years! 🥳

Okay Andre, happy to help if you don't come right - if you do change your mind, email me at support@pixelrocket.store. I don't always check my KZitem comments. Happy NY to you as well!

Hi, I did everything as you did and I'm having just a little issue loading my custom JS scripts, for example when trying to load Popover didn't work. I import my script after import bootstrap: "document.querySelectorAll('[data-bs-toggle="popover"]').forEach(popover => {new Popover(popover)});" they compile correctly with import, I have elements with [data-bs-toggle="popover"] attributes as BS component documentation, doesn't diplay any errors in console, everything is looking good but Popover doesnt work. Anyone know what I'm missing here?

When you say you import bootstrap, is it the full bootstrap bundle? I think if you're getting tooltip via the Boostrap bundle, you might need to do something like new bootstrap.Tooltip rather than new Tooltip. Have you tried console logging out Tooltip? If so, what do you see?

Marlon, can you place your project on a Github repo and send me the repo URL? Don't include www.github.com as part of the value you paste into here, otherwise KZitem will think it's spam. Just paste in everything from the URL after www.github.com. Make sure your repo is public as well. Will have a look for you then.

Hey Sandra, have you uninstalled the hero plugin? I assume you are trying to use Gulp instead, right?
