Thank you so much for sharing all of your content. It has been invaluable 😊. Quick question, if I wanted to add buttons instead of a zipper, would I still add the 1inch seam allowance to both back pieces?

if you mean buttons on the front, like a button up shirt, you'd cut the back piece on the fold, and have 2 mirrored front pieces with seam allowance, and a button placket allowance as well. If you meant putting buttons on the back, then the front piece is cut on the fold, and the 2 mirrored back pieces will need a button placket allowance. I hope I explained that correctly

Hello. I am really enjoying your videos, but I am created a man. Anything I need to know when making a bodice pattern for myself? Many thanks, Bob.

Hi wonderfully created :D I hope to look into mens wear more in the future, stay tuned. For now this video should work if you cut out the dart stuff.

Very good, but what about a bust dart , I have a big bust. Or this pattern is just for knit fabric? Thank you in advance.Bye

Good question! This pattern can be used for all types of fabrics. I have used this pattern for people with different measurements/bust sizes to me and it has worked. Bust darts can also be added to your pattern though. I haven’t looked into them yet. Hopefully when I do, I can upload a video. There are some nice tutorials out there that show you how to include them. Thank you for your feedback 😊

I have a question. I am planning on stitching a 1 shoulder top using rigid fabric so i will need a zip under my arm at the side seam, on the left side. Should i be adding a 1” seam allowance plus a 1/2” indentation on the left side? and on the right side side seam do i add an indentation with a 1cm seam allowance? I hope what i have typed is clear. It would be really helpful if you could answer this question for me. Thank you soo much for your amazing videos, i love them 🙏🏽

Hi wonderful! Apologies your comment slipped by and I am only just seeing it. I hope this still helps. As the back does not have the zip follow 3:10 - 4:17. Then on the side with the zip all you have to do is instead of having a 1 cm allowance on that side for the front and back make it 2cm or 1 inch or what ever you prefer for zips. You do not have to dip it more or less just add more allowance on the side seam with the zip. The dip at 3:25 is only needed for the back seam not side zip seams. All the best 😊

Hi. I think you are referring to the 19 second mark? Let me know if this is not the case. The details I referred to there are the ones in the description box under the video. I don’t currently use sewing books. Just sharing my experience as I go 😊.
