Amazing tutorial! I was trying to avoid knitting and I love the use of the needle to help define the back of the stitches. I do that at home so it really helped me with this tutorial! Thank you.

I was so grateful for this video. It popped up at the right time. l needed to know how to add a rib to the garment. The original pattern idea was from a knitted pattern but l decided to crochet and hadn't decided how l was going to add the rib. Your video has just shown me what to do. Thank so much for sharing. Brilliant video. ❤️

Thank you thank you thank you! I’m a kinaesthetic learner too (thanks ADHD), and have bought patterns before and just cried because I cannot ‘see’ what they’ve written (us and uk stitch differences don’t help either). I am so so grateful for these videos! I feel less stupid and can apply what I remember seeing to my own stuff! I’ve found I’m better at doing stuff my own way - going to go hunt for a sleeve video from you too! Fan for life! Xx

@winifredlanham7687

First - Thank you!! Second- would you please say why you’re adding the 2 slip stitches between rows? Is that to make the ribbing tighter?
@buttonnosecrochet
2 жыл бұрын
the pattern i was working into was *Sc, Ch 1* so i am working into each St and Ch 1 sp. Slip stitch ribbing itself will pull in. If you have made Sc ribbing then you slip stitch into the garment the same way. I hope that makes sense.

Why does my slip stitch ribbing not have a springy stretchy effect?? Am I using the wrong kind of yarn or too tight of tension?
@SharoninKentucky

I want to add a brim on a one layer knitting machine hat. Since the adult hat for men need to be as big and stretchy as possible. Do I still slip stitch either two or three into hat to make it bigger stretcher. Does slip, single or double crochet stitch stretch the same or is one stretcher than the other? Thank you
@buttonnosecrochet

Hi, i personally have not used a knitting machine, but i do know SS ribbing springs back into it's original formation, whereas Sc ribbing does stretch over time. To attach SS ribbing to a knit item, i would treat each Knit St as a stitch like in crochet, but that being said it may be trial and error as i have not done this before.

@@buttonnosecrochet thank I’ll do some practice on scrap pieces. Thanks Also while making a ribbing I get confused on how or which way to turn after getting to the end of the row. Do you turn towards you or away and is it always one way? Hope this makes sense.
@buttonnosecrochet

@SharoninKentucky it was confusing when I first done it but using stitch markers helped. The first few rows are always the hardest when learning.
