Nice! Instuctions for mine showed using a 4 foot level to line up both wheels. This is how I learned that my bottom wheel was mounted half an inch offset from the top one. From the factory. It took a deal of shimming and adjusting to get them right.

Hey just got done doing the adjustment I got the top wheel level. And I checked it after I turned it on and let it run a minute or two. And it stayed on track so far so good. I ain't cut nothing since I adjusted it but I tightened the tracking knob real good after I got the wheel level. So I think it should stay there really appreciate the info Joe. Thanks buddy

george matthews my saw came with a stand that has adjustable rubber feet . to level it off I just screw or un screw each foot until its level then do the blade. if u dont have a stand with adjustable feet id suggest looking into something like that or you could always use shims underneath the stand that you have your saw on.hope that helps!🖒..

Ive had tht happen try not too push too hard let the blade and saw do the work and also check the tension of ur blade it could be too much or not enough and its causing the wood to "drift" off and not cut straight. Could also be the blade type ,tpi (tooth per inch) And size of the blade. I hope tht helps you. ik this comment is old but I feel like I didn't reply back very well and I wanted to give a better answer to ur question.

The top wheel IMO is best tilted so blade tracks with blade gullet center on crown of wheel for best blade support without drift. Of course there is also the tilt of wheels side to side often missed at factory on cheaper saws .If your getting wobble which is front to back movement of blade then that is off. Remember its different than flutter which is tension related side to side movement.

I have a 14 inch Sears with Carter micro adjust guides. Look for Carter's Snodgrass video on band saw setup ;he explains and demonstrates same setup. Get cross cuts with miter and rips with fence with no drift is what I found with his setup.

@tooljunkie555
4 жыл бұрын
What type of wood are you cutting? And what type of Blade like how many teeth per inch are you using? Both of those play a factor Also, you might be. Trying to push the wood. Through the blade too fast. Or Tension might need to be adjusted I'd start with using less speed and force and go from there but the blade TPI is EVERYTHING! Hope that helps ya and thanks for watching and commenting appreciate your support
@tooljunkie555
4 жыл бұрын
I just thought of this I always use a 3/16" 4-8 tpi hook tooth blade good for curves but if ur just making straight cuts I'd go with at least a 1/2" blade with more tpi.

I'm sorry but this is nonsense. The bottom wheel is factory set. It matters not one whit how the whole machine is set up, it could be on its side. There is no need for a spirit level on the top wheel. The top wheel does not line up with the bottom, that's what the adjustment screw at the back is for. It's offset at an slight angle to the bottom wheel to enable the bottom of the gullet of the teeth to sit in the centre of the wheel tyre. Waits patiently for all the posters to say I'm wrong.......

Not true. It has nothing to do with the floor. It is the the tabel and the blade, obviously.
