I have a C4HTS and it’s driving me mad. Its Humidity sensor appears to be causing the fan to be permanently on. It doesn’t matter where I have the Humidity dial set it can only be switched off by using the isolating switch. Do you know if the Humidity circuit can be disabled making the fan effectively a C4TS, or alternatively do you know if its possible to purchase and fit a C4TS circuit board.

Hi, is it possible to wire this so it works on the timer only? I think the stat on mine is too sensitive and the fan rarely turns off? H

Hi there, I’ve bought this same model but only have a T&E running from the fan switch, I’ve wired it up to test, but won’t run, I’m not fussed about run on feature/timer as I use to run the old one via the fan switch. My old fan unit had the humidistat which automatically adjusted fan speed and that the reason I purchased this one. I’ve even tried bridging the P/L and the S/L still doesn’t run and it’s new out of the box.

thanks for this vid, installed the unit ages ago but the screw driver slot was facing into a corner and the manual didn't say how to remove the cover.

Hi. Very informative video. Can I pick your brains ☺️ I'm looking to install one of these units in our shower room. Can you tell me if I just want the humidity switch to operate the fan do I need to turn the timer switch to zero. Also, if just using the humidity side does the trigger switch need to be connected to the light trigger still? I would have thought I could just wire live and neutral from an isolation switch supplied by a 3amp fsu. Thank you in advance.

Hi Neil, If you would like to use the humidity sensor only, you can wire a permanent live and neutral only. This will activate the fan when the humidity reaches the set point of the humidity sensor. The timer side of things, in short, yes, you can set the time adjustment to zero. The overrun function of the fan would come into play more if you were using a switch live to activate the fan in addition to the humidity sensor.

Hiya. I've recently had this fan installed but it doesn't switch off and is constantly running at a low rate. When I switch the light on it speeds up and then when the light is off slows down according to the timer.... However it is constantly making a noise and thus is definitely not silent....😂 Can you help?? Thanks!

Thanks mate, that helped. I'm having a problem with my fan in that it should come on with the bathroom light switch but it doesn't, but then it will come on if the lights on after the humidity levels build up while the showers on. But here's the weird thing, my model of this fan is the one without the humistat. And theres no humidistat sensor or dial in the fan, so god only knows what is causing the fan to automatically switch on after humidity levels start to build up in the room. Anyway, thanks for the video, when useful :)

Hi, I have just purchased the square version of this fan and want to test it before fitting to the wall. I have connected the live and neutral wires (red & black) to the fan, nothing is connected to the 'timer' terminal. When I put my switch to the 'on' position, nothing happens. The fan does not come on. There is current going to the fan. Is there a way to test the fan? Have I purchased the incorrect type of fan as I only have a live and neutral cable from switch? Thanks

Hello, I'm sorry, we didn't receive the notification that you had left a message on this video. Your fan should have a permanent Live and Neutral connected to their respective terminals and a switched live connected to the S/L or Timer terminal from your switched supply (usually a light switch). This will activate the fan once the switch is turned to the "on" position. The permanent Live is required as the fan has an over-run/timer function whereby, once the switch has been turned off, the fan will continue to run for a certain amount of time (usually adjustable). Without the permanent Live, the fan would cut out as soon as the switch was turned off.
