I have been a supporter since the Justin Bieber instrumentals in 2013. You are without a doubt my favorite channel on KZitem. I don’t think I’ve ever wanted to see someone succeed and make it more than you bro. Keep grinding. Your big break is coming 🙏 hope to also collaborate sometime 🤙

I understand this feeling at a young age so I can hopefully adapt to this well, no matter how much money I start off with. I don't know how to feel about credit cards since I'm at a young age right now and am still understanding how credit cards work (I'll be honest lol). I also heard that I should get a bank account which is also something I was unsure of getting since I have heard that you have to pay yourself to keep one I knew most of this information already, but it's just great to spread the word. I didn't know it could affect you as much as it did for You when saving. I heard that a key tip is to save 10% of every paycheck you get, does that still apply to today's society of personal saving?
@IAMLXGEND
5 жыл бұрын
Lol. 10% is... a start. But I don’t think that’s enough at all. I cut it out of the video but I mentioned that I personally save around 70-80% of my checks. I literally get paid, pay bills, then everything else goes straight to my savings account. 10% really isn’t enough for building up an account fast. Unless you’re making tens of thousands of dollars a month. As far as how credit cards work just think of it as a friend lending you $20 and trusting you will pay him back each month. That’s it. Credit cards just lend you a set amount of money, and you have to pay it back all at once or over time. If you don’t, you mess up your credit which means later you can’t buy a home or a car or get anymore loans. The difference is credit cards have interest rates. If you don’t pay them off in time, they will add more money on top of what you already owe each month. Which means borrowing $20 could turn into you paying back $40 if you don’t pay the $20 back in a fast enough time. Regarding bank accounts, you need one. It’s not really an If. You can’t really get by without a bank account. You need a place to deposit your work checks, to save your money, and to pay bills online. So it’s basically necessary to have one.
@IAMLXGEND

And not all banks require you to have a lot of money inside to keep it or to have direct deposit to keep it. Some major ones do but if you can’t find one, look into credit unions. They are like banks but smaller and usually local.

One thought I have to add. What you are saying is absolutely correct. We need to focus our attention on where we are going in life and part of that is finances. The thing is that no-one is infallible. We all make mistakes. We will all make good and bad purchases even when, like you we try to spend wisely. We have to leave room (budget) for mistakes. Not that we can just sit back and think "Oh, easy come, easy go". Nope it is not but we have to leave room for clients who stiff us and oops I bought something that I don't desperately need. I currently have a client who I had to sue for almost 10K. That is a lot of money to have to sit on for an independent operator. I don't make half a million dollars a year. 10K isn't chump change to me! I am floating fine though. How? Credit and careful credit management. I have a line of credit and it is carrying the debt. I pay the payment (+) every month and hopefully now that my lawyer got us a judgement I will get the money back with interest and be able to pay it out. Luckily for me my client is working hard to incur enough interest to pay back all of my added costs as well. LOL.

That’s wild and I’m sorry that happened to you man but I can also relate. I’ve had many people on this channel stiff me from work I’ve done as well. I know the feeling and it’s rough but I’ve been able to make it only because I’ve saved money for emergencies as you say. It really does help.

Bruh I suggest any musician to buy gear through sites like zzounds sweetwater and American music supply theses companies run a pay as you play method meaning you can pay a portion and then finish paying it off in monthly installments with the option to pay it early if you choose too this is the best method and I thank GOD i was introduced to it YOUR WELCOME AND THANK ME LATER 😎✊🏾
@IAMLXGEND

Yes, relatively the same as having a credit card and making monthly payments on what you purchased only you won’t be tempted to go spend money from that on something else. Lol. However this video was mostly about how to save money over time and afford what you’re trying to purchase overtime so that’s why I always recommend people buy second hand. If you can purchase second hand from those stores and still finance then that’s even better.

Wait what? Best buy cc you got 7,000 for being on time. Hmm. I had no clue. I've never considered a credit card. Always been afraid of buying too many things I don't need. Lol. But I have been told it "helps" ur credit.
@IAMLXGEND
5 жыл бұрын
Well it wasn’t just because I was on time but that played a heavy role in getting my increases. When they run your credit they check for how long you’ve had a credit card, your payment history, how much money you use from those cards (high usage = bad), and whether or not you have delinquent accounts (ones you never paid). But paying on time basically solves this problem for everything. Over 5-7 years, they gave me small increases from +$300 to +$700 to most recently a $2000 increase because they trust me. That’s what it’s all about. As far as buying what you don’t need you just need self control. I do it all the time but I also return a lot of items because I realize I don’t need it. If I’m considering buying something but that store doesn’t have returns, I won’t buy it. And I’m the type to sit in a store for literally 2-3 hours thinking about buying ONE camera or ONE laptop. Weighing the pros and cons and if it’s a NEED. Never do things on impulse. It’s the quickest way to spend all your money up. If you think logically about whatever it is you’re buying then it shouldn’t be an issue.
