I used to play MTG many years ago when commander was invented i played zur and it was fun =D necropotence goes well with solitary confinement and both are 3 mana enchantments. Yawgmoths bargain was not banned then and i played that with words of worship and serras sanctum. I also as a backup and manaplan had that card that turns every permanent to enchantment and destroy all enchantments card =D It was so fun deck back then. Good memories ^^

Pretty much all you need to do with his builds is upgrade the lands and mana rocks to have a deck that can easily hold it’s own against insanely expensive decks. I much prefer my version of Zur, it uses the same hexproof core, but also uses things like heart of light, solitary confinement, dovescape and underworld dreams + temple bell/howling mine effects. it focuses on becoming immune to everything and then forcing the opponent to draw themselves to death Letting an opponent go through half their deck, only to realize nothing works as they're drained to death is much more fun

I really like the deck it makes me feel even more evil but I also got two improvement ideas for this deck. 1.I would exchange Blessing of Leeches with Soul Channeling because I dont feel like the flash on Blessing of Leeches really matters in this deck and it got the advantage of keeping you in controll if you lose your life also I would say most the time you pay even less life with soul channeling over the course of the game than with Blessing of Leeches. 2.This one may be very situational but I thought about how easy it would be for Blast Zone to destroy all the good enchantments so I think somewhere in the deck you should put in Tainted Well.

I have never felt so targeted by a video before. I have been watching hours and hours of Commander Videos in the last months, including every single one from Commanders Quarters (great to see them here!) and finally caved, i will return to paper magic in august together with two friends and the Commander Pre Cons! But last week i got bored of waiting and started to brew together a deck with my old cards (mostly crap from end of Kamigawa until morningtide) and would you know it? The most interesting legendary creature i had in my binders was actually Zur. So i started to look for inspiration on youtube but almost every decktech was basically: "just get Necropotence lol". Not what i am interested in so i decided to go with a controlling voltron strategy, just like the one featured here. Some nice (well not for my future opponents) cards in this lists have went under my radar until now. This gonna be a great resource for finishing my deck. This video could be more perfectly timed for me!

I think the deck is too slow to be oppressive with that many comes in tapped lands unless the opponents are equally slow. Better two color or five color untapped lands will help. And parallax tide could help rein in a player that got ahead on lands. Especially if you can re-use it or get if off the battlefield at instant speed so the lands don't come back. @GamerdevilPro
5 жыл бұрын
@@L00rdAjduk I mean you can do stuff with just optimizing your gameplay and the deck but beyond a certain point some decks will just perform better than others. Also it is just expensive in most cases to upgrade a deck. Not everyone wants to do that. I just built myself a sliver deck from some cards I still had laying around and didn't use for a long time but that thing seemed so powerful compared to our playgroup that I am considering not to upgrade it the way I wanted for now. Otherwise neither of us will have a lot of fun because they all would try to focus me (rightfully so in that case) so I don't pop off too hard with my sliver overlord tutoring literally everything and flashing it out whenever I want. It probably is too strong already tbh, now that I think about it more :D (I have to wait a bit how their decks settle and we played a couple more rounds - we just recently started playing commander and only played ~30 games so far but played magic for many years now).
