I like that you're putting mixing balls in your air paints and your quick paints but the paint that needs at most are the acrylic war paints

Zenithal gradient is cool: Definitely love the idea of triads. I'd try just shooting the mid tone first all around, the dark color from the bottom of the mini, and the lighter from the top. Experimentation time!

i would start by doing the dark color everywhere! then mid tone everywhere but the places you want dark!

You can do alot just by rotating the mini at certain angles rather than needing to coat the entire mini with the dark paint.

Hello Army painter. I got a starter kit and I have to say, it's fantastic! Even for a beginner (especialy actualy) it makes airbrushing so much easier. They work perfectly right out of the box. Great job! I had two questions. Do you plan on making the paints available individualy in the future? In time I will have to replace single colors that I use much more than the rest and it would be great not to have to buy a full set again for one or two colors! Also concerning priming. How many coats would be recommended (again with no dilution)?
@TheArmyPainter

One light coat with the primer should be enough! And yes, all of these items will be available individually on our new retail rack in early 2022.

what is the recommended psi and what air brush do you recommend?
@TheArmyPainter
2 жыл бұрын
It's not possible for us to provide a pressure recommendation as there are too many variables. For example, Adam lives in a very heavy, humid region, so he tends to work at higher pressures around 38-38psi, while Thomas is in the mild and moderate Danish region and works in the mid-twenties. It is also dependent on how you use the airbrush. Thomas works in very light layers, while Adam is a but heavier in his application. We suggest you experiment on a piece of paper to find out the perfect setting for you, your style, and your environment. As for airbrushed, we use an array, anything from Badger's Patriot, Renegade and Sotar 20/20 to the Harder and Steenbeck Infinity. But there are many brands and types available.

Has flow improver been added to the air range or do I need to add my own to prevent tip dry?

Flow Improver per say has not been added, but many things HAVE been added to make this range truly airbrush ready right out of the bottle.

Thanks@@TheArmyPainter Reason I ask is I have a few bottles of of your airbrush thinner which I've been using with warpaints - great combo. Have the Air mega set and was thinking the thinner (with FI) may help it get through my sotar with less trouble.

Hi picked up your air primer line and a few triads. How long do I have to wait for the air primer to be ready to spray the base? All I keep seeing everywhere is it dries quickly. Not sure what time scale im looking at and the internet has a wide range of opinions on this

It's frustrating that the Mega Air set doesn't come with Primer but the 'starter' set does. I'm in Australia so far the only place I've found with the Air Paints are in the sets.. You can get the Airbrush Medium, but no Primer.. what gives?
@TheArmyPainter
2 жыл бұрын
That's really down to Aussie distributors and if they stocked up on the Mega Set or not. Good thing though, soon all of the Warpaints Air paints, primers, and products will be available on our third retail rack (which will also include Speedpaint). Be sure to mention that to your local retailer.

I don't have an airbrush and I've never used an airbrush. Where would I get the best airbrush for your paints? How would I even start. What do I need to buy?

There are lots of good airbrushed available on the market! We are big fans of the Badger Patriot as it's fairly resilient, well priced, and easy to use. We also use the Sotar 20/20 for more detailed work. And we were just sent a Harder and Steeneck from our friend Caleb Wissenbeck to try out and we are impressed with our initial trials of it.

Badger is widely touted as a very good brand. Specifically the Patriot is very nice. A .5 nozzle/needle seems to be the standard brush size equivalent and .35 is the detail size. Miniac(sp?) Has a good video on what can go wrong depending on different factors and how to fix it
