I want to thank you so much for all of your tutorials! I was getting rejected for almost a year because I wasn't prepared interviews. I watched many of your videos and applied all of what I learned to an interview I had last week. They called me the next day to tell me that I was HIRED! Your info is a life changer! :-)

Hi Hira, I just wanted to say thank you so much for all the help you've given me. I prepared for a big job interview I had last week watching your videos and taking down notes. I just received a call today from my recruiter telling me that I completely killed the interview and my future employer loved me. I am beyond happy right now and I had to make things right and tell you how thankful I am for all your advice through your videos. Thank you so very much. Have a great week!

I was taught it is called the S.T.A.R. System: Situation Task Action Result Basically the same thing, but possibly easier to commit to memory. I like when you don't look down and refer to your notes on the desk, but rather you go into a story/example of your own experience. You are more relaxed and in return, the viewer is more relaxed. You've got a new sub!

Yes, very similar. We like SAR because it's simpler. You have to keep your answers to under 3 minutes. S and T are very similar (and neither are key). What matters most is the A. :)

Hi Hira. I agree that one should steer clear of any personality conflicts when providing an stories for behavioral interview questions, however, what if the question asked IS "Give a specific example of a conflict you have had with a coworker". How would you respond to that type question? Thank you in advance for your response.
@careerly
8 жыл бұрын
+lindalavish Give an example of a conflict w a co-worker over a business/work related issue. You and he/she disagreed on what the analysis showed, on which strategy to follow, on how to tackle a particular assignment etc. DONT bring the personal into it.

What do you do if there was no problem solving needed in your position, that it was a repetitive job I worked by myself.
@girl275
8 жыл бұрын
Conflict with a co worker question. If a coworker misunderstood and complained to supervisor that i was not doing my share of the job but it was a misunderstanding because I was finishing up a job that I was asked to do from another supervisor. would that be to interpersonal?
@careerly
8 жыл бұрын
+girl275 Yes. Doesn't matter if you were right or wrong in the situ-> it just creates an awkward impression. Why go there? Just use another (more business-related) example.

This is a great video and I learned a lot. My question is what if I never had a conflict what should I do?
@authuser1294
8 жыл бұрын
+Angela Slater Yeh, I don't have much conflict either, and you don't want them to think you lie if you say none !!!! I guess you must point to your strength as a teamplayer and your social skills - hence - you had no conflicts - or pick a situation outside of work...
@careerly
8 жыл бұрын
+Angela Slater Figure out an answer. They are testing for conflict resolution skills- they need to know you have them for future scenarios. Say something like: I haven't had any major conflicts at work but I can give you an example from school/community/volunteer activity...
@careerly
8 жыл бұрын
+Authuser see above. Answer the question. They need to know you have conflict res skills in case that scenario was to arise. But yes, agreed, also mention team/social skills.

Such a good amount of important useful information being absorbed by my brain it still being able to pick up small environment related information as the too cold temperature setting of the air conditioner. I hope my distributed attention will be appreciated as well during the interview :)
