Hi, should we factor overhead, hanging light fixtures into the overall layout as well? Small living room, small light fixture or can it be bigger🤓💭

This is a great question! It so nice to hear from you! I agree with you that ideally it's great to include the ceiling light fixture in the overall design and layout of the room so that there is a general sense of balance throughout the room. I think that your ceiling light fixture is an important part of the room and you would want to choose a size that makes sense for the room and would relate to the size and scale of the furniture and overall look and feel. Ideally it would grab our attention but there would be other areas in the room, like the conversation area, that would be the main focal area of the room. I think it's all about creating an overall balanced look and feel to the space. I created a community post with some images to help illustrate a couple of ideas that I hope you find helpful. Think about furniture that can have double purposes. A lower IKEA Kallax unit (2*2 squares) can be both a bookcase and a side table if you have a little imagination. No one will find it strange or stupid. It will be a high side table but it will probably "swallow" as many books as a normal thinner bookcase yet not being that high for placing a coffee mug on. Or think of rotating furniture so you can have the furniture tucked away when not in use.
