20:08 Wow they really planned all that shit out to match those updated cyan digital gauges I'm always hesitant to get. Hands down best video on the internet regarding this subject, and NICEST aftermarket interior. Great color combo. I like it better than my original Luxury package!

Thanks! Much appreciated, yeah it’s a great system, turned out nice, very pleased with it. Actually though my interior is all original paint and all, only thing I replaced was the instrument cluster bezel because the chrome was faded, but thanks though I appreciate it. Glad you enjoyed the video, thanks for watching.

Hey quick question so I actually bought the same radio… So from what I am understanding… Do the blue,red, and yellow wires connected to the radio need to be connected to the black one in the truck?
@FastFords289
4 ай бұрын
So I can’t remember what each color wire does on the retro sound radio, but I believe the blue is for an electric retractable antenna so I just tucked mine out of be way and tapped it up. I know one of be others is a power wire then the other should be a memory wire, so your power wire connects to the black wire in the truck and the other would connect to a constant 12 volt power source for the memory. Now I have noticed that even disconnecting the battery the radio still maintains the memory of your settings so you could connect both the power wire and the memory wire together and it’ll probably work just fine. Hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions and I’ll try to help if I can. Thanks for watching.

Where did you get your aftermarket face plate?!
@FastFords289

LMC truck, but they don’t make the face plates individually anymore, they’re all made together in the bezel. I had my original face plate I used to set the positioning of the knobs. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching.

Do you think it can handle a heavy sound system?.such as a large amp and 2 subs?
@FastFords289
Жыл бұрын
I believe it would, retro sound sells amps and subs for their radios like mine so I’m sure it’d handle it no problem, I just didn’t buy one because I didn’t see it to be necessary in a single cab pickup. Those two box speakers are great and get real loud and clear even with all the windows down cruising down the highway. I will be doing an amp and subs in the Torino when I do that retro sound radio in the future.

@@FastFords289 I watched your disc brake conversion video but on one of later videos you now have Wilwood brakes? Why did you switch and how do they compare? Thats my next upgrade.
@FastFords289
Жыл бұрын
@@grant3049 yeah i actually meant to do a video on that. I was having so many problems with the master power brake kit that I just cut my loses and ordered Wilwood which is actually what I wanted from the start but they didn’t offer a kit for my car that came with the booster and everything. So I still have the master power brake booster and master cylinder and proportioning valve but Wilwood disk brake rotors and calipers and lines and they work great! Couldn’t be happier. They install the same way as the master power caliper but they’re aluminum so they’re lighter and the pads fit better and just an all round great product so I highly recommend the Wilwood stuff, I wish I had just went that way from the start, I’d just had to get the booster and all from somewhere else but you live and learn. Hope this helps, and thanks for commenting and thanks for watching.
