Best tutorial on this knot. Amazing how others use level line and have their fingers in the way. You really can't see if your looping over or under with level line. Tied my 1st Lillian to level line knot and untied it successfully. Yes, trivial, but I'm an absolute beginner.

Cool! Can be useful for other applications also, no tankera, though I do dig that you turned me onto them previously. Hope you are well and have some trips planned, enjoy. I plan on spending a good part of next month in the Warner Valley/Drakesbad/Silver Lake area of Lassen next month. Hope to meet up with some of the PCT hikers, should be awesome. I will get Vids up to share soon. Thanks for all the vids, I have converted to Ultralight now and you have inspired me Jason. 73 Wheelchair John

Awesome video. I will buy a Tenkara rod soon and use level line because its way cheaper and easier to make different lenght lines in the field and you can bring like 100 meters of line east and for almost no cost at all.

nice. Allot of people do knot type videos and they are an epic fail. This was very easy and instructional.

I thought the Lillian would have an over hand knot in it, well if you have been fishing a furlered line? So would it be the same as what you show here just with the over hand knot.

@jasonklass a fishing pole, it just a telescopic rod with one eyelet on the end, to which you attach a line the same length as the pole, at least thats the distinction i see between fishing rods and poles,

@spr00sem00se Tenkara rods do not use reels and are generally longer than typical Western rods.

jason , i have watched your videos for a couple of years now, i have a question for you, what is the difference between a tenkara rod and a carbon fibre fishing pole? to me they seem to be the same thing

Interesting, I had it right, but I did it wrong. I must have. The first fish I hooked, as I set the line it came off.
