As a former meter reader trust me, if you are approached by a dog that is running loose, stare it down while at the same time bend down as if you are picking up something, raise your arm as if you are going to throw an object and you will have that dog on the defensive. It worked with a pitt bull once when it tried to sneak up on me me as I was walking back to my vehicle.

Daniel Salvador true and false. This dog actually did have a bite history and it bit a couple of this lady's friends. And rather than being protective he's really claiming her because she was very passive. You are correct that a truly aggressive dog we'll just go for it, but I've done countless videos of people who said their dog was aggressive and I do assessments at the animal shelters where their dogs appear aggressive and I've not gotten bit. Truly aggressive dogs are rare and that is the whole point in doing these videos

This interaction is misleading....It's not just the approaching person's body language that plays a role in the dog's reactions....The Owners body language was calm, the owner was accepting and even interested in the interaction. If the owner's body language was nervous and fearful, the dogs would have taken a stronger lead in protecting its owner and possessions. I'm not saying that the stranger couldn't have overcome that more aggressive reaction, but I am saying that the interaction would have played out differently.

Stop. Body language is everything. Confidence and showing no fear is also everything. I saw a Rottweiler barking at everyone passing by his lot. Then its my turn i slow down, walk taller and look at him. It didn't bark lol The day before i bumped into on the street, it was loose. I stood my ground, stood taller and faced it the entire time while it was poops on the sidewalk. We made eye contact. Finally its owner came out and yelled it name. Yeah the rott submitted to me the moment it was poppping. It put its head down and looked away lol

Great energy. I could tell as he walked to the fence that it was going to go well. You have to have your energy under control. He acknowledged the dog's protective behaviour around woman. Very important. They are different around females. His movements were slow and predictable. Hope people get this. The thing about law enforcement is that they are rarely going to be in control of their energy and this is something to explore.

I agree that body language is very important. My Dad used to approach the most vicious guard dogs and calmly engage with them until they were relaxed. I can remember yelling at him not to get too close but he was never attacked (perhaps fortunate). I was lucky enough to meet and watch a guy named Monty Roberts in California who is known as the Horse Whisperer. He took a wild horse and tamed it to the point where it let him put on a bridle within just twenty minutes. I admire anyone who has the nerve and confidence to do what this guy is doing and if it saves dogs lives then I take my hat off to him.

I did them as a Facebook challenge and in every scenario the owner said that their dog would attack or bite me. I know that it doesn't appear as much - but that's the whole point. and it wasn't food I threw - it is a leash so the dog can catch my scent and I'm gauging their distractibility. now granted- I'm not tech savvy and I just had my friend video these things with the intent that I would break them down in person for my trainings. she just put them up so people could chk them out

He was the nicest guy you could imagine, but he was a submarine vet who served in WW2 and was absolutely fearless. Aggressive dogs have always scared me, but this guy was not scared and would insist on getting out of the vehicle even with aggressive dogs like Rottweilers that came up and bit our tires or bumper. Swear to god I thought he was going to get bit but he never did. He always said the dogs just wanted "to say hi" LOL So it proved to me it's not about size, it's about attitude, and how you interact. He always stuck his hand out non-threateningly so the dog could smell it and then he would start petting them. Never saw him back down from a single dog, but to this day I am not that brave.

Even with guns, try shooting a moving object coming 25mph at you, and then try doing it again when your gun arm has a pressure of 300PSI on it, you could do it, but you'd have to hit him in the head or he wouldn't stop. I know we all try to rationalize "Well if a wolf attacks me I would just pluck its eyeballs while he snaps at my otehr arm", it isn't that simple, there's a reason larger dogs were put up against bears and won.

@@TheTillmanSneakerReview Sure, and you would just Jackie-Chan stop the Rottweiler's heart while he's on top of you mailing your other arm. Trust me, everyone thinks that they are more dangerous than they really are, when fights happen, there's no room to your meticulous planning targetting his organs. Some dogs display gameness that motivates them to continue fighting with both of their legs ripped off, bleeding to death, or being shot several times.
@heiko5129
3 жыл бұрын
@@TheTillmanSneakerReview Yeah, there are stories of moms opening a crocodiles jaw to save her baby. And then there are statistic showing how many people died from crocodiles. We are capable of doing a lot of things, but let's face it as it is, you are not going to easily dispose of a big dog because you know his anatomy and where he is weak at. Even taking into account if you had a gun, you'd have to be well-trained to shoot him in a lethal area before he reaches your arm and drops you to the ground. And what if you were empty handed? What would you do? Try to pluck his eyeballs while he mauls you? Try to choke him without taking into account that his neck is twice as thick as your two arms combined, while you might not be using one of them? Try to kick him in the guts so that he can feel absolutely nothing? There is going to be weak, fragile and coward dogs, but in a situation where a human and a big dog is empty-handed fighting for survival, there's no doubt that most of us would die. Movies made us think of humans as protagonists and heroes that can survive impossible odds when in reality we are far weaker and far more fragile than most of the predators out there.

A lot of protection dogs trained in bite work won't even attack a human until they get further training against decoys using concealed sleeves instead of bite suits or visible sleeves. People just over estimate the typical pet dog. Energy and body language can go a long way in keeping dogs away, as you clearly demonstrate. Thanks for the upload.

A properly trained protection dog, even schooled in the bite, has a neutral attitude, and is situation trained to respond to aggression. An attack command without aggression will not result in an attack. This is over lots of training time, mostly confidence building, so dog is not afraid of any human, and is an asset. The dog is taught to read people, as 99% of people in general are not bad guys. The dog, with proper training, is smarter than you think. A junkyard dog hates everything on 2 legs, and is a liability

Dogs who felt they needed to take the lead because their owners were not assertive

I've read comments here saying this dog isn't aggressive, scared, don't want to bite, all dogs with no training are scared nervous and paranoid of strangers. Fear bites come from nervousness not the dogs decision. NO matter, they are and can be extremely dangerous. Your approach and body language was right on the Mark. Your patience, facing the dog straight on so the sees body with, the hands and your sound warnings, all done right way. Good job. Dogs with high prey drive and working dogs must have proper training, exercise, and constant discipline from an Alpha. These type dogs must have an Alpha or they become your alpha, without obedience and discipline through excerice and training you will have a Dangerous liability on your hands. Most all cases of someone with a crazy bite happy dog is because there's way too much dog and not near enough owner. People buy dogs for wrong reasons and just want a dog to look at and show off. Next thing they know they have a wild dangerous unpredictable killer in their home that in many cases they become scared of. My uncle owned training facility and breeder for 30 years, 150 kennels and 2 jip houses. I started aggitating real deal adrenalized Dogs when I was young, 6 or 7 years old introduced to it, my uncle started my training then, just like the K9 units from all local law enforcement, traimed me with the routines that the dogs must have. By age 12 I was trusted agitator and leash trainer, high dollar K9's, private show dogs, Belgium Malamois, German Shepards, lots of Pits, Stafford Shires, Rottys, Catahoulas, and slew of every thing else. Dobermans by the thousands cause that was the craze in 80's early 90's and my uncle bred and sold who knows actually how many. 3 single wide trailers gutted with cubicles the length on each side, each cubicle had plastic kiddy pool and cedar chip floor, each for mama and pups in climate control. 80% Dobermans, Magnum P.I. had lot to do with it, or had everything to do with it, either way I remember my uncle saying all time, "Thank goodness for ole Magnum, I love that bastard"! Lol! You must start being the alpha the day you bring your new pup home, the alpha needs to be the dogs owner, doesn't have to be, but makes the relationship between the two so much stronger and fulfilling for both. Leash training starting at 4 months. Dogs need to be on a schedule like us. House training and obedience training should be done daily at the same time. A routine is key. Also training techniques and exercises should be administered just like building a house. In ordered steps, never straying from routine. And voice commands should be sharp and exactly the same every time. One syllable names and commands work best, for each different command have dedicated word and or signal, never change. Remember your dog isn't your boss, but he will become your boss very quickly if you are not asserting dominance from day one. Never let him walk in front of you while leash training, choke chains should be used but fashioned properly and only to achieve obedience. Sit him looking at you, say "NO HEEL", Bring him around your right side, around your back transiting leash right hand to left, stop him at left knee, he won't sit initially he don't know. So pull up tight on choker, saying HEEL repeatedly, may have to reach and push his butt down, maybe use long leather leash so you can swat around your back on his butt get him sitting. However, but it's crucial for you to give him air while he is going down or immediately when he is in sitting position. Then praise him, get on a knee so you on his level visually when loving and praising, use a high pitch sweet voice like when he was puppy. Treats are ok but only one small something when he does good, only immediately after doing as told. Then sound your attention command such as a loud sharp, "AHH HEAL", I even pull my hands to my chest simulating the same hand arm movements when teaching to heal, him in front looking at you on leash, pulling him around your right side. Simulate by making fists and reaching forward and pulling both fists too your chest while sounding your "NO HEAL" Loudly. Dogs have a little memory space that you can program with info that not only gets awesome abilities and obedience from your dog, it also makes his life so much better, and yours. You're the general, he is second in command. When not working, say No Leave and love him with sweet voice, he immediately goes back to being goofy dog doing dog stuff. But with one loud attention command, "AHHH NOO, HEAL"!! Immediately he bolts around your right side to left knee position. Waiting further instructions. And this is the moment the real training can starts. All the months teaching simple obedience, heel, retrieval, stay, load up in truck, kennel up, house training, all that is simple foundational obedience. Once he has all that and heels to the left knee, you can now make him a super dog. Grab his collar and give command to intimidate clapping snarling teeth on back legs, the a command to attack. But please don't booger your dog up aggressive until you fully understand what that consists of and the liabilities that accompany such a responsibility. Do lots of research, study, always socialize your dog from day one, take him every where every day in the truck with you, as much you possibly can so he is comfy around lots of folks and chaotic events. The obedience through your training and excercise routines daily gave him confidence and calmness, you're the alpha, he don't have to be, he looks to you, the bond between you and your dog can be so fulfilling and awesome.

my much younger brother and I were sitting on the side of a nice neighborhood street when a home owner let his two very large aggressive rot wheelers out of the front door ( on purpose). My brother was getting ready to run, I told him if you run they will attack us. So we stayed there and looked them in the eye for what seemed like a few minutes. The dogs barked, growled and had froth coming from their mouths. After a min they were called back to the house by the owner. The dogs wouldn't listen at first. It was obvious the owner wanted us to be scared of his dogs and wanted a excuse for them to attack us. Luckily they didn't. we were sitting down there was no way the dogs knew our height or size. It was body language 100%.

@@davidwill1320 every human should be a protector for their dog. Only leadership failure causes a dog not to look to its human. We are supposed to set the tone. It should be a two-way protection street but sadly for many betrayed dogs.... It is not.
@davidwill1320

@@marieindia8116 I agree, but would say it another way. It is the human's responsibility to establish dominance (leadership) in the relationship. The human must be the alpha or there will be problems with the dog's behavior and control. Many many owners do not know this or know how to communicate with their dog who the alpha is. Many dogs will naturally assume they are the alpha unless told differently. Establishing dominance is step one in the relationship. It is key to everything else that follows.
@marieindia8116

@@davidwill1320 thank you for explaining this to beginners. However I still prefer the word leadership to "alpha" and "dominance" since many people have a skewed idea of what those should look like, leading to abuse. An alpha wolf does not establish dominance by being overbearing, and he usually leaves the heavy discipline work to the beta wolf. An alpha is distinguished by his calm balanced bearing, his decision making ability and general avoidance of dangerous situations that could get him harmed... He is the breeder, and can't let himself get disabled. Similarly, we also need to give our dogs a feeling of stability, confidence and safety, because we are supposed to be the ones making the good decisions for their benefit.

John Parrett, I've actually been attacked a few times but the most traumatic was when I was three and my brother was almost five, he was attacked by 2 German Shepard's and he had over 100 stitches. I was not attacked but I remember that still so vividly and I basically went into shock. Is pepper spray effective to give yourself a minute to find a safe place? It's awful to carry this fear around when walking in your own neighborhood. I was thinking I could carry a small pepper spray in the palm of my hand and only use as a last resort. It's funny that they other night I was walking home and as I turned the corner I literally ran into a dog off his leash with no one around. He trotted up to me although I basically ran right into him as I turned on my street. I was definitely afraid but I felt he was just curious so I just stopped for a second and kept walking. When you carry such immense fear it's hard to turn that off.

K Leadership Services 9 Yeah, you got it; that's the magical recipe! Had a similar situation a few weeks ago. Female Shepherd, owners dog; on a leash in the back room at a grooming center. "Aggressive", calling everyone's bluff. I asked for a few treats, then got within striking distance (lil' toooo close), missed a bite by a few inches hahahaha. Chuckled, then dropped a treat on the ground. She grabbed it, ate it; wagged her tail. We became instant buds. I then tried hand feeding her; after I made her sit. With tough Shepherds, I make introduction with treats; then right to obedience (sit, stay, down etc). Their working dogs right? Make em' work; they'll completely forget about the mischief they were all set to get into! Aggression: bark, heckles go up, ears go back, tail stops wagging & eyes begin to roll. I'm sure you are fully aware of what I just shared with you, being in the business your in. I just wanted to say it anyway; if I can save you from just 1 German Shepherd; you'll be better off. However, I do have a male that you can take all what I just shared, and throw it out the window! At 4 months old, he trotted over to the electrician and sunk his puppy teeth into his right leg. No bark, growl, heckles going up, ears back it eye roll. ZIP!!! His father is an IPO III, mother IPO III as well. He went to a rich guy, with a family; requiring personal protection & mother still around, being shown; she's very territorial. No surprise right? My dog Iros; VERY PROTECTIVE. With all that's going on in the world today; I'm really glad I got em'!!! No doubt, he's a real trip; lots of character. It's funny, of all the Shepherds I've owned; he's both the MOST affectionate & meanest (when he should be). All of 75 lbs, medium size male. You're really doing a great thing. I'm sure your also trying to educate these dog owners along the way. With working dogs; Doby's, Rotty's, Pit's, Mastiff's etc, the recipe to owning a well balanced controllable animal is exercise & socialization. CRITICAL the first 24 months; CRITICAL. If not, it's soooooo easy for these dogs to go from a pet to a guard/watch dog. One of my biggest pet peeves is seeing "tie outs"; absolutely RUINS A DOGS TEMPERAMENT. They should be ILLEGAL in all 50 states. Get a kennel, at least 12' x 24'; water bucket hanging on inside of kennel door by a pair of double ended clips. P stone 2 " thick on top of the grass with, preferably, cedar dog house. Fleas & ticks HATE CEDAR. Directly in front of the dog house should be a horse mat; these mats easily survive all 4 seasons here in New England. Meant to send you a "quick note"; sorry for rambling. I have 2 passions in life; offshore race boats & German Shepherds.

Amazing how many of the commenters say things like, "Try that with MY dog, and you'll be dead." Dogs aren't an extension of your machismo. They're beings. Independent entities. You don't OWN your dog. You're it's custodian. Your dog's purpose in life is to experience a loving, learning-rich, sense-of-belonging, pack. You're part of its pack. And if you're a good, calm, just alpha, your dog will want to do everything to help you. If you treat your dog as some sort of security appliance, or an extension of your crotch, you're just behaving like another bad human. Rather learn from videos like this. Learn how to be a good human. Learn how to be a pack leader. Learn how to treat your dog as a dog, and not as an appliance.

I got cornered by a neighbor big dog this week. First time, he leapt over the low fence and confronted me. He grabbed my arm but released it quickly. As I backed up away from his yard, he kept following me and showing his teeth. In desperation, I shouted out command “SIT” and he did. I then told him “ BACK TO YOUR YARD” , but he tiled his head ( for not understanding) . He got bored and left after the owner called him in. Second time, same thing. Apparently, this dog followed commands. Some useful commands: SIT, STOP, OUT.

Nice job, good handling. A dogs psychology can be a bit tricky, because of the pack mentality. This was pretty impressive. I try to stay away from aggressive dogs, ive been bit with no warning by super high aggressive dogs. No growl, no barking, everything on my part done just right exactly the way I saw you handle this dog and bam...nailed me in my shoulder jumping through the air at me. I had a bladed body, slow movement being patient let them sniff around me. I had a full dental print in my arm carved out of my flesh. So i don't screw with training aggressive dogs. More power to you. I had pitbull rush me while I was working on a construction site another time and luckily I had a rubber mallet in my tool pouch. i was carrying a ladder and the neighbors let the dog out. i tried to put the ladder between us but he jumped over it at my face and i pulled that mallet and wrapped his ass on that hard ass pitbull head one time and he left me alone after that. Some dogs can be passed the point of retraining. I'm glad this one was receptive.

Has anybody noticed that this guy has a friendly conversation with the dog's owner, in front of the dog?! Of course the dog isn't attacking, because it can't perceive this guy as a danger in the yard. PS: low enforcement officers usually are under time pressure when entering someone's yard and they are usually chasing dog's owner. So I don't think it will work like this for low enforcement. However, nice video! It may help normal people to avoid dog attacks in the street.

Daniel Doboga pretty good observations. However, this dog did have a bite history and it was This Woman's guests / friends who have gotten bit. When confronted assertively with confidence it actually is more on the insecure side. This dog was claiming its owner because the woman had such passive energy. In regard to law enforcement, of course if it is a matter of life and death or an emergency- officers would not have the time. But far too often you will see in videos where it's not an urgent matter that sometimes even a dog approaching will get shot by police officers and often times it's not even an emergency. Officers now have the obligation to take measures when entering someone's property if it's not an emergency to take into consideration/ precautions the presence of a dog and not just go in and shoot the dog as owners are now winning substantial lawsuits. : )

Thank you for helping to educate people when it comes to avoidance and understanding behaviors that keep dogs calm and secure. I had really no clue how to train a dog but I always felt that I could most likely avoid an attack but I never had an actual education on how to do that. And what I learned over the years is that when you are a stranger to a dog or the dog is a stranger to you, you really can not predict how the dog will react to you. You have to assume a few things in order to stay safe around any dog you don't know and you really need to pay close attention along with being confident. But for me, without an understanding or education on how to do that my confidence suffered and that was not a safe situation to be in. But as there is so many dogs in this world it's a situation that could arise quite frequently. Dogs are everywhere and we ALL need to be educated so we can avoid getting attacked and/or avoid dogs being unnecessarily put down. I myself didn't completely understand dog behavior until quite recently and only because I rescued a year old Maltese that was going to be put down only because his family had a baby and didn't want him anymore. He was completely trained already but we had no information given to us and so basically I had to spend the last year figuring him out. I feel horrible that i was completely ignorant when it came to understanding dog behavior because if I had then his transition would have been a lot smoother and his separation anxiety would not have been as severe. He has educated me and I couldn't be more proud of our accomplishments and so that is precisely why I am thanking you and all of the wonderful people out there educating those of us(which is all of us actually) so we can have safe interaction with dogs as well as having a true connection with mans best friend. Keep up the great work xo

@ Gerald: in these scenarios yes. Remember when a dog is coming at you aggressively when You Face them and move towards them you are demonstrating a confrontational posture- meaning they are a threat to you and you're confronting that threat with a calm and confidence aligned with proper body language. I never turn my back on a dog, however - if you are in closer quarters and the dog appears that he/she is very uncomfortable with your presence(stiffness/closed mouth etc) I will use a side posture, demonstrating that I am not a threat but I am also not afraid

I would not recommend ever turning your back on a dog that's charging at you, but if he's contained behind a fence you can just walk by and ignore you don't need to face them off or anything. if it's an issue of insecure or fear-based aggression I would not stare at them and face them off I would have more relaxed but assertive posture- or should I say a non challenging posture

A) my first Mentor many years ago was one of his students, so yes there are some similarities for sure. B) this dog had bitten a couple of this lady's friends in her presence- that's why she called me there. C) when confronted with confidence this dog went from being bold to insecure and the woman's passive energy contributed to this. Any more questions?

I'd like to relate my experience. I used to inspect village houses on behalf of the government. On one occasion, I entered a village and was immediately surrounded by 5-6 barking dogs. Thereupon I stood still and slowly backed up against a nearby wall, all the time showing no fear or signs of panic. After about 5 minutes of barking and growling, the dogs presumably got bored and started to disperse. I was then able to extricate myself and continue my assignment.

@@marksolheim6188 good for you, then we're fighting for the same cause. I do assessments at the shelter with dogs who are deemed aggressive and many times I have been blessed do you have a different assessment than initially given for the dog this saving lives. And I did these videos as part of my Law Enforcement Training to teach officers how to confront dogs successfully who appear aggressive instead of using lethal Force. I'm sure you're a great guy, but dissing my choice of how I wish to wear my hat is really irrelevant. You came at me - I responded. Keep fighting the good fight

@ Vince: you would be correct sir! that was part of the reason why I was there - if this dog and it up in the shelter they do not adopt hybrids therefore they typically get euthanized. I was called in to assess the level of aggression and much to the ignorance of many of the previous comments if approached differently this dog would attack and / or bite or bite. part of the equation is the passive owner if you notice the dog keeps going back to her. my goal was to get this dog adopted and we did! Part of the problem with all of these videos is I did not have the resources to narrate what I was doing we just threw them up here to see if there was any interest. most of these six videos look too easy- but that is the whole point. I did this as a Facebook challenge and in every scenario the owners said that I would probably get attacked

K Leadership Services 9 I am sorry for some of the stupid comments you are receiving. If you hadn't handled yourself so well the dog was going to clearly attack you. Some people can't see the lightening fast but subtle communication you were having with this dog. Good work. Hope she found a good home.

Dog has bitten twof this lady's friends- that's why she called me there in the first place. But yes, when confronted with confidence and calm assertive energy the dog retreated after attempting to charge. Owner was not a strong leader and the dog took advantage of that. If you were to approach this dog thinking "it's a sweet lovely dog"- it would most certainly bite.

I'm not a dog whisperer, but in watching this (as a woman), I see a lot of this having to do with HER energy. Is she afraid? She stands her position, but it's clear she's deferring to the new male. It's facinating. The dog is reading her first, then him second. If she had been alarmed and/or scared, this would gone down totally differently. I am still a believer in body language tho... I made a loose pit bull stand down in the street from attacking a young neighbor girl with her small dog once out of sheer anger (mixed with some fear) by yelling and being big. It came from a sincere protective place (mother bear). The dog backed down, the girl and dog got home safely, and nobody was physically harmed, including the dog. I love dogs, and I know he/she was likely frightened too. I can only hope the dog found its way home too.

RS good feedback, however in this scenario she is actually claiming the owner as the owner has a very passive energy. normally I don't have the owners present like this when I attempt this but in this case after talking with her we suspected that some of her aggressive tendencies were based on that. she's not scared, but definitely unsure as I did not back down to her Bluff charges. had I moved away or submitted Myspace most likely would have been a different outcome

@RS Yes that good old fight or flight comes in handy with sneaky dogs right?! I had a pit decide to come out of it's yard after I had passed by on the opposite side of the street and I calmly turned around and told it " I see you, go home" as I readied my weapon. It faked at first and simply made a circle. So I showed my weapon and loudly threatened it verbally while I took a fighting stance. The dog took it's butt back home and I finished my walk. 😁

What you're saying is it's the smart thing to do... bring body language and energy ( whatever *that* is supposed to me ) into a vicious dog attack on my person. Brilliant? Hell no! I have pepper spray on me, a metal cane and a mean disposition against anything attacking me. As a little boy I've been attacked and bitten at least a half dozen times by dogs dumped by their owners which just run the streets. My puppy has been attacked 2 times now by off-leash dogs in my retirement community who were twice his size. The one dog got a face full of Mace and the other, I caved his head in with my metal cane. I wouldn't tolerate a vicious dog attack no more than I would a mugger.

I used to be very afraid of dog attacking me until I was about 10 yrs old when one of the fully grown doberman that I ran from a couple of days back, lunged at me from about 50 yrds away. No time to think, I grabbed the nearest thing I could find, a bamboo about 6 in. in diameter and about a foot and a half long and waited when the time was right. I smashed the left side of its face as he leaped to attacked me. That is all it took as the dog ran out whimpering. The owner saw the whole thing and yelled at me. "I just survived a dog attacked, who the fuck he think he is?" I was fucking ten yrs old!

Quick question, how do you respond with a random dog that seemingly friendly is running up to you? This happens to me quite often. I generally stand there calmly putting my hand out for them to smell. Was told this in the past, but not I'm thinking this is a bad idea.
@johnparrett5869
6 жыл бұрын
M Lee that is very good question! It all really depends on the body language that the dog is demonstrating. If they look relaxed and happy and the tail is wagging in a relaxed sweeping way not a stiff way, then chances are you're safe. Until I'm 100% sure I never bend over and stick my hand out I stay standing and will make my hand available for them to smell. If they look unsure or apprehensive or tense, I will throw my arm out and snap and tell them to back up so I create space and let them know that I'm assertive( I think you probably see me do that in the video a few times)

in my opinion I think animals are like humans... they are the product of their environment ... how they are raised and treated is how they will act.... I raised a pit and rott and they were huge.. but they were also gentle giants... loved to cuddle and play ... I had them trained to be outside in the yard without a leash or a fence... supervised of course... but they never barked at anyone passing .. they never chased after other animals that were around ... but I kept a close eye on them if there was another animal around.. and kept them close and distracted as much as possible.. but they watched also.. if any other dogs came into the yard I would hold them and they would let the other dog know they were there and that he was on their property... walking them was no problem.. they were leashed and well behaved.. even with other dogs walking unleashed.. they were not perfect they had their off days but then again who or what doesn't but no one and nothing is perfect.... but they were raised good... and that's how they behaved ... every breed of dog can be aggressive it is natural and at times necessary if they need to defend themselves against harm... it is sad that pit bulls are being singled out... people need to look at the history of the dog... I know this has nothing to do with this video ... but it is a response to a comment I read in regards to pit bulls..
