Thanks for the content Mario. One important thing you forgot to mention is to never, never go too wet on the first coat. It has to be wet and thin(medium wet). Again thanks for that tutorial.

I'm amazed that it doesn't run going over the same area so long!!!!I never put it that heavy ever except last coat but I never lingered that long in one area.but I'm going to try this technique on the next one.wish me luck.

Looks good Mario. When you're letting your clear flash between coats, do you wait until it's hand slick or while it's still sticky. The clear I'm currently using has a flash time of 5 to 15min. Within to 10 min it's still kinda tacky. I'm currently working on a black hood and it keeps dying back on me by the next morning. Not sure if I should wait alil longer between coats

Hey Marcus I usually wait about 10 minutes between coats so it’s still tacky. As for your dieback problem. Make sure your clear is mixed up properly especially ratio wise. Is the dieback still happening after a flow coat?
@marcuswhite1403

@@mariopaintclass6091 I didn't do a flow coat, just went with 2 coats around 8min flash time

@@marcuswhite1403 okay try doing a flow coat. Sometimes when the clear is drying too fast it leaves us with dieback. So depending on the temperature you’re spraying in you might need to change hardener or flash time.

@@mariopaintclass6091 Thanks. I've been using slow hardener. Temperature was around 90 degrees.

Np Husky Thanks for your comment. So for my Fluid just take off the cap catch it back on the threads and before tightening all the way hold down the trigger and tighten Fluid nob until you feel a push on the finger holding the trigger. Hope this helps. As for pressure I always have this gun at 30 to 31 psi.

@@mariopaintclass6091 I also use a ws400 but I’ve never sprayed it wide open on the fan since everyone I’ve talked to say it starts splitting because of how big the fan is, but I’ve also been getting a few little runs recently, mostly on edges im wondering if I should with the fan wide open
@mariopaintclass6091

@@ArmaniTheGreat thanks for your comment 👍 I do notice that split in the fan, but I've grown to understand it by watching how it flows. Just remember when your fan becomes narrow it's spitting out more material. Which means your speed would to change and your pressure. Are you using the 1.4 or the 1.3?

How long do you let the clear activate in the cup after mixing it before your spray..

I don’t wait unless the temperature is below 60 I’ll let it sit for about 10 minutes. I’m in Florida btw.

Hi Mario, do you add reducer to 2:1 clear coat?
@mariopaintclass6091

No 2:1 is usually a thin mix. Unless I’m doing a flow coat I wouldn’t reduce.

If I have left over clear I’ll use it on another job if it’s within the shelf life period if not it’s garbage.
