This video was so helpful! Thank you Daniel for going over ink splatter and pooling so in-depth. I have been having the splattering issue as of late and it has made a great case for the face shields! Pooling has always been an issue for me BUT it has slowly become less and less an issue (I have been a deep dipper too but am trying to pull back more!) This video was invaluable and I will be taking your words to heart. I have been running around 5.90v/6v, so I've been staying away from the 7s and 8s! Thank you for all the work you put into this community you have creates! Blessings to you and your family brother! You are appreciated Daniel!

I started only dipping the tip of needles and it completely removed pooling and splatter. I normally keep my needles out about the thickness of a quarter. I've done 10 different tattoo's this way recently and it's helped a ton with line clarity. My other issue is finding a hand position that reduces shaking but doesn't rub off the tattoo Stencil

@Ink4Breakfast thank you kindly, friend. I'll have to use that quarter visualization trick with tomorrow's practice. It is something that sits well with the way I visualize things. As a lefty, I completely feel the pain of the stencil smudge and that balance with hand position between it and shaking.

I have a question....when would you apply that thin layer of ointment to the area you are going to tattoo, before or after the stencil product?

Can I use aquaphor as glide until I start working on actual skin? Is there a reason not to?

I feel if it is the Aquaphor that is the petrol base and not a cream base we can use it for tattoo practice. Aquaphor is pricey so I would recommend using some amazon basics petroleum jelly. Below I will list my Amazon affiliate link for you incase you want to check it out on your end. Amazon Basics Petroleum Jelly amzn.to/3VPgXRf

Thanks so much for this video, i'm fairly new to the game. I thought the pooling thing was something that I was just going to have to struggle with & after watching this i've figured out my faults. It's gearing to the whole high voltage while actually dipping to get some ink thing...I can see why that makes sense. I most def subscribed my brotha' thanks for not making me feel hopeless & afraid to continue wanting to do this on anyone other than myself lol

Turn down voltage..add another rubber band.. Those 2 things always worked for me.. On coil machines anyway

So for something like using a 14rs for lining I should turn down the voltage and slow my hand speed? I'm using Mast pro carts and it's been hit or miss with pooling with their round shaders for me. But I'm new so I'm asking.

How is stroke going to affect this? Stroke of the machine in the video for reference?
