Y'all have come so far with chickens it's awesome to see. I have heard due to the feet being nasty people bag them separately then scold and remove the skin before using for broth. Idk if that's needed or not

The feet peel in the scalding process, I have heard it can hinder the release of collagen if the skin is left on the feet. I have used feet for many years and the broth the best I’ve tasted so I don’t find that part to be true. 💜

Interesting to hear that Robert prefers the Cornish Cross and you prefer the freedom rangers. Do you plan to get more Cornish cross chicks this year? Adding any other new breeds to your mix?

We sure are! Probably a mix again since we like different breeds. I promised myself (and robert) I’d only trade out birds but not add to the flock haha! Once I can get it to a more Manageable size I will be reading some out for better egg colors
