Simon, Thank You for this. Being a leader is a two way street. I was in a leadership position in 2008. I made a lot of mistakes, and I learned a lot too. Being a leader is not being a dictator. It's listening to other team players, it's dealing with people and fellow team players with diplomacy, tact, and remaining respectful and polite. Thank You for the encouragement here in this video.

Hello good sir, you may not see my reply but I will ask you a question because you were in a leadership role. (Using specific examples from your experience, what are two strengths that you have as a leader? How did you develop these strengths? Conversely, what are two areas that you would like to grow in, or improve on, in terms of leadership? How will IYLEP help you with these areas of improvement? ) how would you answer this, its an exchange program going to USA for a month. so can you help me?

I think everyone should learn when to debate and when to communicate and listen. Because it’s a great quality for leaders and non-leaders alike. Intaking what the other person has to say doesn’t always mean you accept it. I think that’s one of the most misconceptions in listening to another’s ideals and beliefs. Additionally, as he said, it gives the other person a sense of being heard, listened to, and respected.

Simon's message is to help us learn & understand that we need to work on becoming a better person. Only then we can help to better communicate what each of us have learned during our course of Life. A lot of us automatically assume that our Brain is Now charged with some amazing information and then we empower our EGO with temporary knowledge; Some people hear to respond, try Listening to understand. Take time to appreciate your Life (Living)--The meaning of Life is to Live. Sun rises and sets everyday without our help. Stay humble.; Thank you Simon - I'm glad to see someone strong enough to voice this message.

thank you, simon. I love my job. You made this clear to me: loving a job is good to most people. Also, being the last to speak does have two advantages as you said, first let all folks in the room feel they are heard, secondly, give one more time to collect information before expressing an option. Glad to know this was done also by Nelson Mandla.

This is so true. Too many do not take responsibility for failure or problems. Only for success and good. That is not a true leader. A true leader takes responsibility for both good and bad and takes action to stop bad things from happening.

Usually real leaders are natural leaders. They often don't try to be a leader. They just happen to be because they have the heart to fix the environment they live or work in. They can be shy people but learn confidence through life. They can be poor people and small people . They are every shape and form. But they have same mind. And in that mind is an intention for the better anything They don't think how to do things to become the leader. They think how to do things so we all could have a smile on our face or so that we all don't have to suffer the same problems again.

People have become so Selfish,I deserve this I deserve that because “I” Did this. My heart goes out to those who have forsaken they’re own lives for the sake of something greater than themselves.

I had a boss like this and what Simon said is so true. The entire school busted their butts to make the school successful. We have a hard population. A bad day a kid often means 7 hours cussing people out and throwing things. If you screwed up and things went badly and you went to her office, you never got a talking to or an improvement plan. You were reminded of all your strengths and got some suggestions. Any criticism was easy to take because she always assumed that you were trying to be a good teacher and had simply misjudged. She gave you advice for your own development - not just to make the school look good. She could get parents who enrolled their kids 2 weeks after the first day and never answered calls/emails to show up to conferences and get their kids to school every day. She was like everyone's grandma. It was fabulous working for her.
