Today I'll be committing heresy & showing you some of the tips 'n tactics you can use to counter Chaos Daemons in the new Pariah Nexus meta for 10th Edition Warhammer 40k
Chaos Daemons are currently poised to take the wh40k competitive tournament scene by storm using their hyper mobility & scoring potential, along with our generally great unit profiles, strategems & enhancements but this video should hopefully help give you some handy tricks you can use to beat Chaos Daemons on the tabletop
While we're still in our own "index era", with the latest Q3 2024 Dataslate, Chaos Daemons have never looked better! It's doubtful they're the best army in 10th edition 40k but they're definitely up there & can be a handful for players who aren't familiar with some of their rules & strategy - especially with Pariah Nexus' focus on actions / secondaries

Daemons were already one of the better armies in 10th Edition 40k (imho!) & now with the new dataslate FAQ we've received literally nothing but buffs. Sadly I can't say the same for some of the other Chaos armies (Chaos Space Marines especially got hit hard, but we'll look at them later). Chaos Knights luckily got some love & fortunately Death Guard, Thousand Sons & World Eaters got off lightly at least.
Aside from having one of the most unique model ranges in Warhammer 40k, along with some of the best background lore, they're a powerhouse in not only tournament play but even at the casual level. Whether they're running a mono Slaanesh list, an extra killy Khorne list, a grotesquely resilient Nurgle list, or a tricksy Tzeentch army pretty much every version brings something to the table regardless of their exact army list
Greater Daemons are obviously a terror to deal with if you don't have the firepower or aren't prepared to properly screen them out. That said even with their army rules & profiles they do have some pretty glaring weaknesses. They're great at using Infiltrators or Scouts but are just as susceptible to being move blocked themselves. If they go the Monster Mash route they may not be able to complete secondaries or actions without devoting a ~300pt model to it. We have zero access to Fallback & Charge. We have next to no shooting aside from a couple options, etc etc etc
Please be sure to add any of your own thoughts or tactics so we can all learn from it. I'm planning to do an entire "How to Beat..." series that covers as many 40k armies as I can. I'd love to hear what army you'd like to see covered next!
I'm hopeful to one day reach the level of Auspex Tactics or Art of War etc & would like to expand into 40k Battle Reports, lore videos etc & not "just" cover tactica or tier lists :P Slowly but surely we're getting there!
