The field can be extremely difficult/painful, and it doesn't matter if you're working nights and weekends, missing birthdays and not being able to see sick family members- you get paid the same, and you're still at risk of getting laid off (despite your performance) for reasons that have nothing to do with you. It happened to me. The field has not treated me well, so I'm looking for something that pays well, feels more lively and gives me freedom. I think this video gave me all the answers I was seeking. Love the video. Currently residing in VA but seriously thinking about moving back to NJ within the next year. Is it worthwhile to get a VA and NJ license?

Depends where your bulk of business is coming from. It costs to get licensed on each state

How is this a side hustle if we have to be employed by a firm and go into the office? I’m looking to do it on side of my full time job until I can turn it into my full time job.

I'm taking the 20 hour course currently and have been told by numerous MLOs its extremely difficult to make this a part time job or a "side hustle". How does the normal person do this on the side and still make a profit?

True, it is a bit difficult to have this as a side hustle since you’ll be at a bug disadvantage! Same with real estate. I encourage people to try it out and if it works out to turn it into a career. I’ve been doing it as a side hustle for a long time since it kinda works with my real estate business

@@CharlieChang can you take any 20 hour course or one in your state?

@@BishimDeja the 20 hour course is national. If you work for a bank that is all you need. If you work for a non-bank you would need to add each states requirements. This video is so good and well explained.

@@BishimDeja You are correct, I should have been clearer....SOME banks will want you to take it and thats the most they would ask for. In my experience I don't know of any banks that want you to take it.....in fact they discourage it as it makes it harder to leave the company and go work for a non-bank which is where the real money is at.

@@CharlieChang How do you also have a real estate business? It's illegal to have both licenses.

Hi I am currently looking into diving into this career. I am still working my day job and I want to work on the class after hours. Is the class through Learn Mortgage self taught or are they scheduled times? I am just confused by the question at check out asking what session I would like (starting at 9am). Any clarification on this will be greatly appreciated!

Advice on breaking in but doing it all remotely from home? Do you think this is possible? Should I get licensed in large states and apply online, etc.

I’ve been presented with an opportunity by a very close (and wealthy) family friend but I’d totally be changing careers. I actually don’t have a degree so is this even ok? I’ve been studying to become a real estate agent and have been in the real estate development field flipping homes for many years. I’ve been told this track I’m on will take at least 2yrs really learning the ins and outs of wholesaling mortgages. I’m like at a crossroads right now. Quite the amount of freedom and flexibility but nowhere near the income opportunity I’ve been told.

How many houses do you close a month? I assume that’s when you get paid. I can live off of $3,500/mo very comfortably. I want a new career. Currently a commercial Pilot with an MBA.

I'm getting my real estate license. I absolutely love anything related to real estate and finance and plan to get into investing. Because this is commission and based on networking would it be better to build up a base of people in the real estate world (buyers to professionals etc) be the best way to get results out of this license sooner? Compared to someone with no background or networking in and around the industry?
