I am actually wanting to go into banking (just finishing up my last semester at the university with my masters degree). I love the idea that more and more women are going into the finance field and speaking about it (especially banking). It is so hard to find a women in finance, I feel like when I am networking/connecting 95% of the time its with men, but then don't get how hard is it for us females that are fighting to get in. Amazing story and video! Would love to get connected on LinkedIn!

I'm currently doing a Master's in Investment Analysis. I'm losing my motivation and feel so down, there are very few girls in my course, most are men and my peers all seem to know it all already. :( I don't think I can do this anymore

I was a quant / c++ programming intern at one of the biggest banks this summer. Best decision I've ever made. I worked with my maximum energy and effort and in the end they were so pleased with my work that they've introduced me to a hft client firm for which I was coding the algorithmic trading platform and I got a full time job offer from them and I did not even graduate university yet. Now, what was interesting is the CV screening part. Don't ever lie - it's not worth it. I knew like 2-3 guys who had to explain themselves to the HR because of CV ambiguity. They literally screened the entirety of my CV, every little bit of it, for about a month into my internship. The HR has even contacted my high school/sixth form in Poland just to confirm the exact % grade I received in extended Physics as part of my Matura. I study Engineering with Physics at university and to be honest I wasn't interested in finance at all, I was just looking to earn money during the summer hence I've applied to as many banks as possible. It went smoothly for me because of interest in coding and fintech.

very vague answer to the question "what do you do on a day to day basis" There's a video of a young IB (two of them ) out there who seems to be quite open and honest. Basically all they do is prepare presentations powerpoint for the sales team to deliver to big clients. So they need to crunch numbers and get the PP ready FAST and with USPs (why their firm can sell a better deal) and the IB needs to work from 9am to sometimes 2am and basically 7 days a week but get 175K USD for first couple of years so not bad. Would have been good if you had gone in to more detail (or can go into more detail. in future?)

It makes me so proud for people who come from ethnic minority or from disadvantaged background so successfully get to where they want to go. And i feel even more proud with its a women breaking in. I got CDE in my a-levels and a 2.2 for my law degree ( due to personal reasons which aren't mitigating circumstances) I don't know what I want to do yet. All i know is i want to work in a corporate world where i can go up the career ladder and become a partner or the 'top boss'. I am thinking about financial firms because I have ALWAYS been intrigued with how businesses are run. I don't know if you could help me with advice with what I can do or if you have any contact where I can do some sort of work experience with. I am hopeful but Im scared it may be false hope im giving to myself

there are masters degrees with a low entry requirement of a 2:2, try that and get the highest grades you can in your master degree, e.g- first class in your masters or a 2;1 in your masters degree, don't give up on yourself

First note that a clock is a circle made of 360 degrees, and that each number represents an angle and the separation between them is 360/12 = 30. And at 2:00, the minute hand is on the 12 and the hour hand is on the 2. The correct answer is 2 * 30 = 60 degrees.

12:15 is a right angle therefore it's 90degrees how ever the handle on the 12 slightly moves and there's 12 numbers on the clock in 12:15 there's 3 u do 90divided by 3 which is 30 then u find 1/4 of 30 because 12:15 is 1/4 of 1:00 meaning it's 7.5 then u take away 90degrees from 7.5 which is 82.5 degrees. If i'm wrong correct me i'm in year 9

Nice interview. Q. What more can the education system do to prepare young adults for the transition from student to intern and then full-time employment? What changes would you like to see?
