an excellent, thoughtful summation of an area of bidding that many up and coming players should seek to improve, well done Pete.

Andrew Robson's advice for club players is forget grand slams and be content with a small slam. I follow this advice and have never regretted missing a grand slam. I find that just bidding a small slam gives me a top 90% of the time. At your level this would not work but for us card shufflers we have lower aspirations.

I agree in principle, but I still think club players should be able to count to 13.

Could you make a video on reverses? I tried to explain the concept to my friends and ended up just confusing them.

If my partner opens 3S with AKQxxxx at equal or favorable vulnerability, then we need to have a discussion! Doesn't change the rest of the content.

Once again, a very clear and useful presentation, thanks. Would you like a video on uncontested auctions where opps declare 1nt after bidding a suit or two -- what would double mean in direct and balancing seats?

Learning relays have been very helpful for hand visualization for me. It's definitely a way to get a lot better at visualizing what's needed for slam.

So timely - my partner and I were just discussing this after we missed bidding one.
