I just got a comb binding machine and I'm excited to use it! I do wish I had a coil/spiral binder, but at least I've got something now!

It really is very convenient to having a binding system :)

This was so helpful! I’ve never actually seen it done. I have been looking into purchasing more pdf curriculum and I prefer binding them. Thanks for sharing! 💛

I know this is almost a year old but I was looking at purchasing this same machine, for even thicker books like teacher manuals and such can you use much larger coil spirals or can you still only use up to 9/16"? Thanks

You can use plastic coil spirals that are larger and hand twist them in, I do it all the time for larger books. But as far as the metal ones clamping them down that is the largest it goes.

Great job! Which weight /brightness of paper do you recommend to use for card stock covers and work book pages?

I usually use the Astrobright 24lb paper for everything, sometimes I will use the 28lb for special things but not often. I never use the standard 20lb. I do like cardstock for front and back covers. I also often use a clear portfolio cover page or laminate the front cover of its something that’s going to be used and touched a lot.

My openings end up outside instead of tucked inside the coil. What am I doing wrong

I know this is old, but I will ask anyhow. How many things have you bound since you received this? How is holding up? Do you have any regrets or is it amazing? I'm debating between this machine or the proclick. This one is cheaper but has the same pitch as the proclick. There are not a lot of videos or other information sources about the Rayson model. Thanks. :)

Still works great, haven’t had any issues with it. I have bound many things, as I prefer to use printable curriculum. It often goes on sale which is nice if you can grab it then. :)

@@theselittlesprouts Thank you! I will keep an eye on it. Maybe I'll get lucky Black Friday/Cyber Monday! We also use a lot of printable curriculum and it gets crazy going to Office Max.

This is a great video. Do you print at home or take the curriculum to print somewhere. I asked and was quoted over $100 to print one book 😬

@@theselittlesprouts thanks. I have not done the math yet. Was it cost effective? I mean based on the amount of work vs. paying the $70+ to buy a program. Sorry I’m new Ans trying to see the best way to do things and stay on a budget of a single income. Thank you for all your info. 💙

I had purchased a comb binder on marketplace for $20 over a year ago. That thing is HEAVY and cumbersome… I’ve been looking to possibly replace it with coil or spiral.

Prime day is coming starting tomorrow I think or is it today?? Maybe it will be on sale! The Rayson one I have is heavy too, but it doesn’t bother me. I like that I can do both types of binding with it. Also makes a great Christmas gift suggestion!
