Jonny. You have no idea how badly I needed to see this today. For the longest time I've been working a job I hate for 50 hours 4 days a week with no time to do my own thing except on a Monday. On that Monday, after housework, food prep, the gym and whatever else, by the time I get on the computer, I get distracted with KZitem, side thoughts and whatever else. And then it's Tuesday. 8-20 again. Inspiration strikes now and then but it's a struggle to find anywhere into the photo and video Industry when all my peers are knocking out content while I'm driving a forklift 50 hours a week. This video did put some of the methods to get on with it into perspective. I'm very happy I found your channel brother

I agree with you. I take time out to just let things flow. I also make a note of ideas as they pop up and revisit when appropriate. I usually will have 2 to 3 active projects on the go (I'm an artist) as it allows me to step away from one artwork when needed and still keep creating. Being in that relaxed state though is so important to allow the flow of ideas.

Definitely can relate to this entire video. I get tons of ideas while out for a walk after work. I use Notion to capture my thoughts and even created a shortcut on my phone’s Home Screen to quickly log my thoughts and send them to a second brain database.

Thanks for bringing this up. No problem agreeing with you, at least its worth a try. Forcing my creativity have never worked before, so I'm eager to try another approach, your inspiring video seems to have the solution I've been looking for. My biggest problem lately have been my writing following alongside my Instagram posting, as it's not easy to come up with new stuff every time I'm posting. And, as my followers seems to grow, I want to continue this, I guess it's become somewhat like my personal style. I know not everyone read it, but for those who really read it, I don't want them to get disappointed. With the information and ideas you've given me in your video, I might se some light in the end of that tunnel, at least, it's well worth some try. Thanks for a awakening video, appreciated as all of your informative videos.

Well explained. I had an engineering professor in college explain to us that as engineers we should have a notebook on our nightstand so that when you wake up in the middle of the night with a solution to a problem you can write it down and then go back to sleep without the fear of forgetting it. When I get stuck at work, I will take a walk around the building, sit in the sunshine for a while, and it's amazing how many times this has helped me solve problems. I never knew what this was called so thank you for the explanation.

A million years ago when I was at university I always found the best way to right a great essay was to simply read up on the material with the question in mind BUT totally forget about writing the essay till the last minute while what I had read 'brewed' under the surface then the when it came to sitting down and writing I used to just be able to spit it out

This is a process that I do use, but in a slightly different form. I work in software and often spend a long time on a taskto the point that I inevitably run into problems. Usually, the way to find a solution to them is to step away from the screen and just wander about the house, or make a coffee and sit in another room. I'm still pondering the problem but as a concept rather than the code itself, which usually is enough to either find the solution directly, or to come up with another diagnostic process which leads me to resolving the original issue. I suspect that this engages similar parts of the brain, though that's just a guess at this point. Reckon I'll do some reading up on it as it's an intriguing subject. Cracking video matey. As an aside, what is the keyboard you're using? The colour scheme on the key caps is lovely. Understated, and quite elegant.

Another creator I still follow (I recently purged all but 3) covered something similar on his channel just a few days ago. I really appreciate the different ways of approaching the same subject. I was recently on a photo trip where things kept going wrong so I was not in the head space to shoot or even to pivot. Once I was bale to relax, I had a bunch of ideas but it was too late to do anything. I've already planned my next trip after doing my brain dump.

Great video. What if you "suffer" from to many creartive ideas and just can't get yourself to actually do them? I enjoy them in my head, but never write them down - it's to difficult to write down images from my head...

Well, Ιδέα = idea , is something that Plato was describing as " a sight of something " , something that came from a Shiny, Full of light world that we ( our soul ) lived before we came into this world ( born ). That was the "Ο κόσμος των ιδεών" = The ( place, world , cosmos ) of ideas. As we get born and at a certain age we " forget " about it and our PART on it. That thing of " an idea came to me " came for Plato for is a saying that in greek we called "Μου κατέβηκε μια ιδέα " = an idea came ( from above ) to me. What i'm trying to say is that this method is very effective but that's not actually how it works. We take part into that world of ideas and they slip away when we become aware of that ( except if we have mastered or took back "Μνημοσύνη" which was the Mother of the muses and practically our "Memory" that we had on that Bright world that i said in the beginning ). We take part to that world by taking part through Muses that gave birth to Art, so practically by being in love or be "lost" with free will in what Art gives us, more ideas are able to be Caught or touched by our "hand" = Mind. I like your hard work on your videos and the care you put on them ! ✨

Learning to think outside the box and produce new and fresh ideas is great. But what do you do when you get good at it and people are always stealing your ideas? And you get no credit for them? I see this happening a lot to many creatives. Thoughts? Another excellent video Jonny! Keep up the great work. Remember it's always about quality, not quantity. This is not a numbers game. I'm here for your quality content. Great episode.

One small question, is it possible to earn some income on VERO? I’m about to switch to VERO full time and I do not understand the system that well.
