I also feel like using my phone all the time affected my attention span negatively which took a toll on my productivity, but being addicted to it has also affected my resting time! Having a hobbie, going for a walk or just staring at the ceiling do so much more for me than "winding down" on my cellphone. I developed an addiction during the pandemic because i was going through harrdd times and i was looking for a way to escape stress, and i know that most of our generation uses social media as a way of escaping their thoughts too. For me, it had a snowball effect. Scrolling mindlessly for hours prevented me from using my time wisely so i fell behind in school, or i would sleep in unintentionally, which caused me more stress and made me want to escape it even more lol. My point is: lets leave the 8hr screentime in 2022, as well as the unhealthy coping mechanisms Great video btw! Hope you have an amazing beginning of the year : D

Thanks so much and this is so relatable! I found i couldn’t even go a minute without having the urge to check on something for no reason lol and I was always multitasking to keep my brain stimulated. Let’s stay strong this year 💗💗

I started a couple of months ago by turning off notifications and that helped a LOT. I kept checking at first since it was off but then the slowly I stated to leave my phone alone. That also helped me notice how little I use those apps so I ended up deleting 2 of my main social media apps and my screen time went from 8 hrs to 2 hrs. When I tell you my brain feels so much lighter. What made me commit to this the mostly tho is that letting other know that I was deleting my social media accounts and they could reach out to me via #. I felt like I couldn't go back to being on social media bc then I would have to explain that I'm back on it and that too much work lol. It was a lot harder than I thought but with time it got a lot better. I'm kinda proud of myself tbh because I'm on winter break and I imagined myself being on my phone 24/7 but that's changed. Great video this will definitely help people :))

i wouldn't go as far as to say i have a phone _addiction_ , but i definitely am attached to it. it got SIGNIFICANTLY worse after i finished my final high school exam and started work. i didn't have to study til i passed out with blood leaking from my nostrils, instead i'd find myself physically being unable to look away from social media, especially ones that had features like shorts, reels, etc... even skipped showers and meals sometimes bc "i'll do it later" my wake up call was getting a message from the uni i applied to saying that i was accepted. i realised i actually had to do well, if not, better. if i continue with the way i am in college, i'd be kicked out. tldr; put the phone down

omg yes that feeling that you can’t look away! What I do now to counter that is to count to five and by then I have to break away from the screen 🏃♀️

7:30 there are lists on the internet with things you can do instead of being on your phone! The're really useful ngl
