You will need for 1F~first fermentation:
A gallon wide mouth glass vessel
( if you want to make less just cut everything in half)
1cup measuring
Metal spoon
Stock pot
Thick wash clothe or towel
Rubber band or hair tie
10-12 cups filtered hot water
3/4- 1cup organic cane sugar , raw or tubinado
6-8 black or green or both tea bags . Use 8 bags if you want strong tea pull back if you want less.
I typically use 7 or 8
It's ok to experiment.
2F~ second firmentation:
Glass bottles with a screw top
1/4 measuring cup
Fresh fruit or juice
In the video please pay attention to sterilization. This step is extremely important.
Wash pot and spoon with warm soapy water rinse well. Do the same for all products used. Then add very hot water to do a second
Rinse. You can also take a tbsp of vinegar and add to water and swish with everything but be sure to re rinse with hot water really well.
After the kombucha has sit on counter for 24 hours- in the 2F phase open very slowly to release some of the carbonation. Then open all the way close back up and repeat the next day. By day three or four repeat and then place in the refrigerator.
NOTE: always open the bottles very very slow and I recommend in the sink or in a bowl to catch any spill over.
