Fantastic video! These are super valuable videos and take a lot of effort (More than I'm willing to put into them)! Keep 'em coming!

Hey bud, thank you. So ever since I started uploading videos, I thought my RPM would be around $5 per 1000 views. Now that I’m monetized, I think I’m seeing a number that is at least double that. $10.23-$12.81 RPM and a CPM of 16.93 - $21.69 daily on the charts. Is that your personal experience?

@@carlpfeiffer77 It really depends on the video. If you go into studio and look at analytics you will see a list of your videos and how each one breaks down. Some of my videos are $3 CPM and $9 RPM and others are $15 CPM and $31 RPM. This is based on video length, type of video and how much advertisers will pay KZitem for those types of watchers. Sometimes though, a video with a high CPM/RPM won't have very many viewers so your video with lower CPM/RPM will make you more money due to the quantity of views. Hopefully you score on a video with both! All I can say is that if you keep producing good quality videos of things people want to know, and can't find a lot of information about, you will do well, because advertisers are willing to spend more for a high quality customer (someone who does research).

@@MyFortressConstruction That is pretty much what I assumed. My best video has done 136,000 views in 18 months.

@@MyFortressConstruction So pretty much, the CPM and RPM are basically up for bid for advertising by whatever companies.

@@carlpfeiffer77 That's my understanding. KZitem has their complex algorithms, and based on the time of year, age/gender of the viewer, and how much the advertiser will spend, they pay you the pittance of it. LOL.

A power trowel/ whirly bird is a little excessive for such a small pad don’t you think? Looks great tho!

Thanks. A power is a great tool to use for a polished surface, like a lot of garage floors.

Good stuff, but please note that not all jurisdictions are the same. For example, in my city the threshold to skip the permit is 100 sqft (as opposed to 120 in yours), whereas in the unincorporated portion of our county the threshold is 150 sqft. Contact your local permitting office to make sure everything's square during the planning process and it'll save you tons of headaches later. Also fwiw, the 3-4-5 rule works great for larger installations, but I find it easy enough to measure the diagonals to determine square.

In the code book, the maximum allowable building without a permit is 120 sq. ft., so I’m surprised to hear about 100 sq. ft.

That’s actually called a monolithic slab👍, an actual foundation is a poured footer, then you pour the floor👍 still a good job on the video and explanation 👌you should ALWAYS chop the roots out of the footer until they are on the outside of the form👍 because THEY WILL GROW BACK I learned the hard way.

Thanks Burt! And yes, the roots were chopped out before the concrete was poured.

I tried looking you up on KZitem, but no results with your name popped up. I went onto Social Blade and saw that you have 8 videos/ 93 Subscribers. Keep on posting videos. I had 3 bad cell phone short videos in 2012, and finally started making videos again in late 2020. Then a handful of videos later I started to get some traction. 1 of my videos that is a year and a half old is responsible for 153,000 views, the majority of my Watch hours, etc., and I finally got monetized in Oct 2022. The financial projection now is about $1,400 the first year, and it’ll increase as I make more videos, and get more subscribers. I also get to make money from Amazon links in the description. Keep on posting, and join the crowd.

Future possible electrical sub panel. Better to plan for the future with a few dollars in materials and an hour of time, then have to do it the hard way later.

I may be mistaken, but I thought you said this was a pad you plan to build a utility shed upon.... or is this a prototype building to house the next NASA space shuttle vehicle? LOL j/k Seems WAY over built, which is far better than under built... 🙂
@craftsmanconnection

When you see your concrete pad cracking and have a separating joint, you know it’s been under built. Probably the most annoying thing is having to go back and redo anything twice, or live with knowing you saved maybe $200, but the darn thing looks bad now, etc. No plans on launching a space shuttle from there, but maybe a drone 😉😅. My dad was a NASA engineer who worked on the Ranger 6,7,and 8 satellites, coincidentally.

It’s a shed that will last as long as the house. You can build 2-3 sheds over the lifetime of the house, and deal with it falling apart for many years before you give up and build another one, or you can build it right, and not have to build it again. Your choice, and your budget.

Isn’t all that work excessive for a tiny shed? Don’t get my wrong or take it the wrong way. I love your work and you amazing sh*t. I kinda answered my question there didn’t I haha But all jokes aside, if I was to build a shed (permanent) in my backyard do I actually have to do it this way? Sorry if I sound dumb

You don’t have to do your shed my way. You can do your shed however you want, it only depends on how long you want it to last. I grew up with a Nasa engineer of a father, so I do things that seems overkill at the time, but since I was a building inspector, I have watched what we built in 1981-1984 become building codes in 1998-2002. You could have a shed from some lean-to type plywood structure to solid poured in place foundation and tilt up concrete walls like some commercial and most industrial buildings. My neighbors shed has been rotten for the entire 15 years I have lived here. I wish he would fix it/ replace it. Maybe 12-14 years ago, my concrete contractor guy told me #10 wire mesh could be used in driveways and #3 or #4 rebar was overkill. When I was filming this shed foundation video he said #3 or #4 in driveways. Funny thing was he didn’t know why I was asking. The thing is that your professional opinion will change over time as you see things fail, so for a few extra bucks, I’d rather be right in the long term, rather than regretful I saved $100 or whatever and feel like I should have done better. I’d rather be proud of my work forever. I look at engineering specs on larger commercial jobs and other things that have lasted the test of time, abuse, heavier weight loads, etc. and make my decision from there. For more overkill inspiration 😅 watch the next few videos coming soon on the shed project! I’m currently working in the shed roofline and a roofing video, but you’ll really get a kick out of the overkill shed video on the zip wall plywood, water proofing measures, venting behind the siding with a special mesh, and so on in that video.
