@enticed2zeitgeist No it does not have to be enamel coated wire but you want get much voltage out of it. The Idea is to get as much wire as close together as possible in the coils so to get the most voltage from each passing magnet.

@DEWessonsax I really needed to make this coils with more turns like 120 verses 70 I could never get my volts over 6volts with the wind conditions I have here. All the videos for making coils that I have seen show using one wire. I am now more interested in making some serpentine coils I hear they are much more efficient.

@eastsidesigns1Tthinner wire = more space for more turns . Also the smaller the wire the higher your volts will be but less amps. So the trick is to get the right combination of high enough volts to charge your batterys but not to high because more amps will charge the batterys faster.

The reason you use enamel coated wire is to get as many turns of copper as close as you can to the magnet the enamel is thin. You cant use bare wire it will not work. You could use say a thin telephone wire that has a plastic coating but this is not ideal.

The disk in the middle is cut into three equal parts after you drill the hole in the middle its the piece that holds the coil. It makes it easier to take the wood disk out of the middle when done.

Very impressive technique. Awesome job of showing how to make coils, but you are using the wrong shape and size. Magnetic flux moving across the coil only produces electricity when it is perpendicular to the direction of the motion. Your coils only produce electricity near the middle and not near the inside and outside edges. Square coils will capture more power and the in/outside edges do not have to be under the magnets because they don't produce power anyway.

I have never tested the stator using an exact RPM. emagnets has a few videos where he has set up his stators and can give you exact numbers for amps-volts -RPM. Of course these numbers really dont mean much unless you have a constant wind speed which most of us do not have. My generator produces from 0 no wind to 15 volts alot of wind. I am using 9 coils. I am now working with serpintine coils less time consuming to make and more effiecient. I am sorry not much help.

I dont understand ,why nobody put an iron core inside this hand wrapped coil for w.g ?
@genelomas332
4 жыл бұрын
An Iron core would get attracted to the passing magnets, and act like a brake, slowing the rotation.. Wrapping a copper wire around an iron core is great if you are going to put current into the coil, as this will make the iron an electromagnet.. this is not the desired function of the coil in this video.. If you need this explained to you in any greater detail, perhaps building your own wind generator is not something you should tackle.
