Claus Müller mainly builds furniture in his carpentry shop. For him, the furniture with the greatest relaxation factor is the rocking chair. With a normal chair, it's all about the proportions, that you also sit well. With a rocking chair, it's all about the rocking. It has a different seat height so you can drive the rocking with your feet.
The skids are the big secret, because they determine the rocking feeling. The skid is a section of a circle. The more the runners are curved, the easier it is to get the chair to rock from its resting position. Claus Müller builds his chair from elm or elm wood.
