I do know, there comes a point in a man's life when you do need a swing saw mill. I built very similar to you with a 22hp x 600mm blade.

Hi JP. I would prefer to discuss anything about the sawmill in this forum. Watch all the vids and read all the comments. Most of your questions should be answered. If you have any other questions just ask. Thanks for the complement JP.

Hi Mike. The distance between the frame rails is 2m(the width of the saw). The length of each of the track frames (the distance between the rollers on each side) is 1m. The height of the frame is 1.5m. You can adjust these sizes to allow for the size of tree you think you might use. I can mill a 1m dia log. The saw bade will cut just over 6". 18 hp should be plenty for a 6" cut. I made all these vid on my iPhone and edited them with an app called Splice. Good luck with the build.

I did too look and though it out, the band saw mill with the electric motor is the only way to go, sure the swing blade is faster and make good looking lumber but limited on how wide your lumber will be, This is why i'am going the band saw mill

I’ve watched your videos repeatedly for months and I’m mostly curious about what size your countersunk cap screws are for the blade

Very nice design. I'm going to make one just like it but I'm having some trouble with the dimentions, some of it is just hearing the numbers and then converting meters into feet. Can you help me out with this please. thank you Capt. Mike

The dimensions of the track (rails) and also the carriage. I'm not sure of your lenghts of steel compared to here. I have a 18hp engine, that should be large enough to use on the mill, without having it boog down. Thanks for your help!!! Mike
