A great video series. Thanks for being a giver and helping others. I am a General Contractor - and Product Developer and have two Provisional Patents in the U.S.A. I really like what you have made and what you can do with it. Thanks.

Lol. Seasoned Yellow Box! Patience on a 13HP. I've done some seasoned Grey Ironbark and Grey Gum. Something like F57 !!! with my 21HP. I always have a chuckle at the northern hemisphere millers, gallopping through their F5 green Douglass Fir and Baltic Pine. Nothing tougher than seasoned Aussie hardwoods. Lol.

Just a tip for people milling wood. Antifreeze is a great wood preservative. Kills mold and termites.

Hi there. 15 hp horizontal, electric start Chonda (Chinese Honda). 1" output shaft. I used taper lock with a 100mm B section twin belt pulley. Same size pulley on the gearbox. But the shaft size is 7/8". It also charges the battery. $350 Australian on eBay plus postage. It arrived 2 days after I ordered it. Can't get any easier and does the job. Good luck with your saw. Troopy.

Hi tj. The saw is still going good. I cut the benchtops for my kitchen a couple of weeks back. So I've been concentrating on finishing the kitchen renovations. I had the blade that I cooked re tipped. So I guess I'll keep doing that for while as required.

I changed the tracks from a frame to 2 individual 6 metre pieces. Makes it easier to move the saw to the big stuff rather than try to position a couple of tonnes of wood on the original frame. As mentioned before I modified the horizontal blade guard to let more cuttings out. And fitted a lubrication set up to lubricate and cool the blade.

Thanks Troopy, I downloaded your instructions took it to a welding shop We agreed on a price of not more than $5000.00 to fabricate it...I provided the gearbox, the blade and a twelve volts winch to raise and lower the bkade carriage. When the job was done and I went to collect the mill he wanted to charge me $17,000.00 and then drop the price to $12,000.00, I told him to give me back my blade, winch and gearbox, I'm still haven't received them...there are all types of crooks out here.

Perhaps a push handle out to the side so you wouldn't have to negotiate the beams. I'm looking at building a diesel swingsaw now but using the same track as the bandsaw I built.

Excellent "journey" of your build!! Many people will benefit from your hard work and engineering. How much would you estimate you have invested??

Some gravity fed water onto the blade and a re-sharp. Both of which are coming on my next lot of days off from work. Thanks tj.

I am in the process of changing the rails to individual 6m lengths. To make it easier to mill big stuff that's too hard to maneuver. I wrestled with that length of Yellow Box featured in this clip for quite a while. long enough to realise there must be an easier way. If it works i'll post a vid. I'm trying it out tomorrow. Also modifying the blade guard to allow more cuttings out. And fitting up a water supply for the blade. I think I need that, especially with the dry stuff.

There haven't been any real problems which is good. Just re tightened a few bolts. I wiil change the measuring setup at some stage but its working ok, and Ive got a few projects on the boil at the moment. I've got some footage of a large Redgum tree becoming my kitchen benches which I'll post when they are finished. Regards Troopy.

Hi, Great job. I want to build one also but can not find a blade supplier for the blade and hub assembly. What brand of blade do you use?? Thank you

What is the gearbox Model and the output RPMs that you are using on your Swing Blade saw? How many RPM do you run your Blade? I'm building a Swing Blade very similar to yours.

I tried to make it for under $1000.00, but that was pretty unrealistic. It ended costing me around $1500.00 for parts and around 10 days of relaxed work. I don't put a price on my labor in these circumstances because its something I do for fun and relaxation.
