I will warn you the aluminum and plastic connection has broke every type of caulking and adhesive I've tried. I now just use tape at the edge and replace it as needed

Best thing ever. Still have not found a long lasting glue for the metal to aluminum joint. But a little tape is a quick fix

I can't remember the gage, but I think about 1/16". Thicker is better because it will flex less when under a vacuum.

How much time would you say that you save per season by using the vacuum seeder rather than hand dropping them?

It would take me an hour hour for 5 flats, start to finish. Now 15 min. At a 20 wk season thats 15 hrs per 100 flats!

It's the same process for any seed. Just make sure the hole you drill is not bigger than the seed our it will get sucked through.

Petunias might be tricky to find a drill bit small enough, but you *might* make it work by taping over the holes and then poking through the tape with a pin. That's what I plan to try this year..
