I used your idea to make one myself. Your plans are by far the simplest I’ve found that produce a good quality product. I also admire you for not getting angry with your son for interrupting your video shots. 😂. He’s just a typical boy. I have three sons and they are grown now and I’ve got two grandsons. Treasure every moment with them while they are little. Again thanks for sharing your ideas and for being a great Dad. 😂 💙❤️🇺🇸🙏🙏

Good technique and imagination. I’m building one and had to check this one out. I live next to a shopping center and a high school. Mine will be larger and tagged “Cash only” for passer buyers. I think I’ll make a killing! Great motivation . Thanks.

Hope all works out for you. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. As I suggest with everyone else, use a higher quality wood for the shingles. The cheap pine has a tendency to warp in the hot sun. Have fun!

Wishing well came out great! How did you determine where to drill the two holes in each board of the base? Any chance you have the plans with dimensions available?
@hansgrahek9627
10 ай бұрын
After you cut all your boards, lay down the first base layer, then lay the second lay on top. This should allow you to see where to drill the holes to fasten the second layer to the base. The repeat with the third layer, but your holes will have to shift slightly to avoid screwing into the second layer holes. After you determine your 2nd & 3rd layer holes, you just repeat the process for the rest.

No plans, I built it by looking at pictures of wishing wells until I found a design I liked and watching other people's videos. The base of the well is easy but the roof gets complicated. Alot of what I did was just putting it together the way I wanted to. I could send you some sketches of my design if you want them.

I found you're video while searching for a "Wishing Well" I could build to sell. I know you've probably heard the complaints of the use of Music which is overbearing in some parts. "All In All" I really like your design, but would have liked to find a version which wasn't so labor intensive. "IE" Drilling, screwing. every piece, adds serious amount of time / labor. My question is this. Is the finshed product sturdy enough and light enough to be loaded, by one person? "Love the interactions with you're children.. When my children were young like yours, I played a game in the swimming pool which I called "Bucking Bronco" my kids loved it and I bet yours would too... Simple get in bout 3 ft of water, :Kneel Down so u are submerged completely,,, have your child climb on your shoulders while wrapping their legs around your body, "No Using their Hands to Hold On" then start propelling your body up and down, Like a Bucking Bronc... Games over when they fall off.... I had hrs and hrs of blissful laughs,, my kids soon grew to big,, so I couldn't do this anymore...
@hansgrahek9627
2 жыл бұрын
BBruuse, It's extremely sturdy, my boys have climbed all over it. As for the weight it is manageable. I lifted it up into the back of my truck to take it to my mother-in-law's house. It probably wouldn't hurt to get help. Yes the predrilling holes did take some time but trust me you will crack the boards screwing to close to the edge without predrill. You could get some more experience screws with self drilling tips. If you find a better way I'm open ears. Sounds like your kids had a great childhood. My boys would love that game. They like to be thrown around in the pool which gets tiresome quick. I've tried putting them on my shoulders but we get yelled at by the lifeguards. Don't have a private pool. I thought about making more wishing wells to sell too but I just don't have that time. My other video labeled as Part #2 has my sketches in it with measurements. Good luck and hope my video helps.

One more thing. I do suggest getting better wood for the shingles. At the time I built this wood was extremely expensive and I had to use pine. I wanted to use cedar but now some of the shingles are wrapping and will have to be replaced. Just some advice.... Best of luck
