Your work is magnificent. I hate to add this observation, but I think you pursue excellence and so will appreciate the feedback. The right navigation light is not the blue shade you painted it, but instead is green. The same green shade you used to paint the single of the three formation lights on the underside. You got the nav light on the left side correct -- red. The large underside light is the landing light, which would have a glass cover over it. Those light colors became standardized by the time the Corsair was produced, and have not changed since. Again, splendid work!

I should have added, but had to look it up to be sure, but the Corsair landing light that I referenced before had an electric motor that rotated it 90 degrees to face forward when deployed. There is an online video that shows its operation. Just search string "Corsair landing light" and you should find that video. It's interesting that this landing light functioned very much like the one on my Cessna 310R. Anyway, again, marvelous work and I very much enjoyed watching your video. I like how you restrain the weathering on the aircraft, not going overboard with that artistry, and in so controlling it, being more realistic. The maintenance crews even in the front line fields worked very hard to keep these aircraft in service and were diligent in wiping up spilled oil and fuel.

The only issue I have with a great build like this is... I challenge you to look at any aircraft on the ground that has tyres and has totally round tyres ;) Personally I get a candle and heat them gently then lightly press on them before painting the tyre. this gives a realistic flat and slight bulge to the tyre as it would in real life with all that weight acting on it. A lot of people forget that.
@Scaleaton
8 жыл бұрын
Thank you for feedback. You have right, for this case i forget that. Generaly i flatten tires with sanding paper on a table or with sanding stick small amount(depends on aircraft's carriage). I don't prefer heating because it gives sometimes "overscale" bulged effect.
@BeasantN
8 жыл бұрын
You can do that but that doesn't give you the slight bulge on the tyre ;) try looking at a car with a decent tire depth and it doesn't look just flat the tyre bulges at the bottom. Heating the plastic and shaping it by pushing on a flat surface gives you that slight bulge and looks much more realistic.

Hi, model companies offer only scale models to their customers. It means "what you see what you get" if you follow kit instructions for building the model, you will get the result like it. Kits doesn't contain instructions about weathering.

I can not stress enough how much I enjoyed your work. The painting process was a revelation! But I have strong doubts about the video length. Practically the build lasts for 2 and a half hours. And most of it is mundane and repetitive chores that add nothing to the knowledge of even the absolute beginner. I mean, cut the pieces from the sprues? Ok for one part, not for every part. Trim the parts? Ok. Show one, let's get on with it. You showed how to mask the canopies. Great tutorial. One part was more than enough. All parts, is a punishment. Aply the roundels? Yes. Show one, not all six. But for the paint job, where all the difference is on your amazing model, you did the right thing to devote the time you did. Work on your editing and on your perspective of time. Because your modelling skills are amazing but some people will turn away and that's a shame. I watched your build in x2 and fragmented. No way I could spent 2 1/2 hours. You were half an hour short of a Lord Of The Rings film! Don't get me wrong. Great stuff here. Just make it tighter. A good solution is to break some tutorials in separate videos and don't load a build with them, every time.
