Build an out feed table on casters that is the same height as your table saw. You can role it into place when you cut long or heavy stuff on the table saw. Lock the casters and clamp it to the table saw for stability. When you don't need it you can move it and use it as an assembly table. Just a suggestion- my shop is not very big and it works for me.

That JP guy is a good dude. I bought some wire off his website and his price tags where good I want a box but want 2 12". But each sub has its own box. Sometimes ya like to take one out i had 2 15s. Subs nowadays slam way harder than my old subs.

A trick i like to use when doing a double baffel is once i have my woofer locations layed out, i drill the center hole for my jasper jig pin through both layers of mdf. That works very well as does your flush trim bit.
@Hless421
9 жыл бұрын
So then do you cut one hole then flip it over to the other side? What if it's already attached to the rest of the enclosure? Or did you find a bit that's 1"5/8 long? That would be nice to have.
@markgippy
9 жыл бұрын
I align both pieces and clamp them together. Drill the 1/8" center hole through both pieces of mdf. Then you can use the jasper jig to cut the woofer hole on one baffle and the larger hole on the other baffle which would be the face and that hole would fit around the outside perimeter of the woofer. Both baffles align perfectly
@Hless421
9 жыл бұрын
mark gipson ooooohh ok so you cut one circle then flip it over and cut the other because you already drilled the center hole all the way through. Got it. Makes sense now.

DUDE!!!! Thank you so so dam much!!!! Why? Cuz you simply threw in the fact of using MATHEMATICS!!!! Sure all your doing is cutting wood. And measuring. Ok simple. But to gain what your trying to accomplish it takes a bit more!!. And this is what I had to show a very dear loved family member... and now he’s all on fire!!! His grade in both math and woods shop have changed unbelievably from d average to a- to b+ in math and from d average to a in woods

Hey Mark, once again nice box!!!!!!Nice tutorial as well man. Thanks for your willingness to help us all get better. Got a question for yah. Would you consider doing a tutorial showing how to calculate 45's so as to keep the width of your slot port the same at the bend and throughout the length of the port. I.e., obviously you don't just slap a 45 in there and call it a day. How do you determine the width of the 45? Simple I know but to make a good box, like yours, very valuable information. Thanks for your positive attitude too man.

People say this all the time so I made a video doing exactly that... kzitem.info/news/bejne/2JxnsXiwpoyEeH4 Coincidently it's one of my least watched subwoofer videos, so I get the impression that it's more about making an excuse why you can't do something (I don't have the tools) than actually not being able to do it.

This box is impractical for most of us if I put 5 8s in my console of the work truck they would be damaged in first couple days. It's a work truck. But this box is bad ass just needed LEDs under JP logo. Most of us don't have access to all those tools to build a custom box like that. I been building for 22 years (houses) and I don't have some of the tools used jigs,router bits glue spray gun. Here's how to build a custom box with $10,000 in tools

Question, is there a advantage using say three 8s instead of two 12s? Since the surface total is about the same. Im just wondering why would a person use so many smaller woofers when you can use just one or two larger ones. Maybe its nice to do something different. Which i can understand
@Blacksheep793

I dig your Chanel, you truly do some beautiful work. this video, I see you did an open woofer box. I realize you have some advantages and disadvantages to an open box Vs separated woofers, Myself, I'm not sure what they might be. I'm building a 4x10 cabinet for my Bass Guitar. right now they are in a ported open box. I have a 15 in a ported box taking care of my low end. I'm thinking about putting the 10 in separate sealed boxes. I'm thinking I'll get a tighter, little higher end bass. each box will be about .8cf. crossed over at about 800hz. yea or nay?
