What corner clamp Was them? Nice I like how you used the spacers for the levels. When I build my rat racks I use spacers for the levels and spacers between the legs to keep it all square and level. Good job on the rack.

I've been looking for guides to build rack systems for a while and this is the best so far, and I love the detail you put into the supplies list! This video is actually the very first time I've heard of mixing tubs being used for any rack system. clever. I'm wondering, though, can I use this build for snakes as well? I don't see why not considering how tight the bins end up. My only concern would be the mesh.

Do you have a build guide for rats? I’m planning to put 2-3 females in one bin and cycling a male every two weeks. The rats would grow out in the same bin until they are weaned/small. Will the rack second from the wall be good for that?

Did u do all your racks with brad nails? How do they hold up over time?
@CDExotics
4 жыл бұрын
I assemble all of the levels with brad nails and then I use screws to attach the levels to the legs. My oldest rack is almost 2 years old and I haven't had any issues with the brad nails. There were some other design flaws on my older racks but wasn't anything to do with the brad nails

I tried this build, put the shelves upside down and my cuts were off. Rats get out of the back every time I open it and I forgot to buy the T valves so the one's I got from Walmart leak. I will have to take it apart and fix it. Next one will be better.

Yes, you need 3 per frame, if you don’t put the piece in the middle of the mesh you will have issues with the mesh warping and leaving room for them to escape

The lumber was probably about $75. The tubs are $6 each and the mesh depends on the size roll you buy. I’ve built several others so I have quite a bit of scrap laying around that I usually try to use up whenever I can
