@Electric Mountain Bike Network. In the US I had to order my bike through a bicycle shop and the closest one that was able to order the bike I wanted was a 2 1/2 hour drive away. And the whole process took about 2 weeks. I am not complaining I think the manufacturer responded extremely quickly to my request. But in many locations in the US it is difficult to get a good EMTB. I really envy you in the UK because it seems like you have a much wider choice closer to you. I’m sure as the bikes become more widely excepted in the States this will improve. Continue to love your channel and I have you guys to think for me getting an Ebike. I have never regretted a single minute of it and absolutely love the bicycle. Makes sense now why they don't mention Bafang who has a great DIY option to add ANY bike you have sitting in the garage with their BBSHD, and then there are new crMd integrated powerful options from Bafang as well. Can be tuned to legal standards.. 👍

This is what I did for my last purchase --- I decided on a full suspension mid drive, then started looking for deals since I dont have and wasn't going to pay $5000+. Didnt limit my search to any specific brands, just wanted the best bang for the buck. Within a month I found a $4600 bike for 1700, brand new in box, last years model blowout sale. I checked some reviews to make sure it wasnt crap, compared specs to others, then bought it online without ever seeing it in person. Had my local Trek shop assemble it and set up the suspension for my height and weight ($120). My experience is pretty good overall so far. Its maybe slightly too small, but I am 6'4 so almost all bikes are slightly too small. No local shops service Yamaha which is annoying but I can take a 1 hour train ride to a shop that does if I have a motor problem. Otherwise I am super happy, best bike I have ever had. Gone on some trails I wouldnt have even considered on my hardtail. Only had 1 issue, a loose motor mount screw, easily fixed.
@bradsanders6954

3000.00 off. Wow. Never ever heard of that much knock off for last years bike . 1700 buys a town bike with no motor or suspension more or less. But then paid 120 for 15 minutes of bike assembly. That is shocking.

Hi guys, I would love you to do an item about the various control units on the handlebars - i.e. compare the Bosch Purion versus the Intuvia, etc, etc - BUT, BUT, BUT... not the boring ruddy functionality or caressing the big display... but the actual practicality of using them. I keep seeing reviews here on YT - there is a Yank ebike reviewer who obsseses about how easy or difficult the buttons are to press are on a Bosch Intuvia compared to the Purion or a Specialized, etc, etc - where people seem to be up their own bottoms about whether they can charge their phone or how gorgeous and lovely the BIGGER display look. They seem to get a bit too friendly with their kn*bs - I mean buttons - if you know what I mean ;-) ;-) S*d that! We're British! Which type actually makes more sense in the real world? Back to the Bosch Purion versus Intuvia example... Lots of people, again mainly Americans, seem to prefer the Intuvia because it has a big display and is more expensive. But is that really better when you are riding a bike through muck, rain, dropping your bike, having a prat smack their bike next to your handlebars, etc, etc? Surely things like big displays - back to that Intuvia again - would damage more easily and something smaller, more compact and less likely to be knocked would be better? Are you really going to be reading a big display when riding your ebike - whether it is an emtb or a urban commuter? Look, you are bright lads - you know what I mean :-) You know where I am coming from. I know you have got the gist of my rant. So if you have some time to do a video about this kind of thing it would be very helpful I think.

As much as I would like to buy my new emtb from a local bike shop, the bike I want (Merida e160) is £5.2k in LBS, and £4k in far away chain store. A saving of £1200 is not to be sniffed at. But I live in Scottish Highlands, what if there is a warranty problem? Post it back, or 800 mile return journey to drop it off with another 800 mile journey to collect it? LBS is Merida dealer and repairer, but not interested in doing warranty repairs on another bike shops problem. Is it worth the risk of saving a large amount of money only to have mega hassles if it goes wrong?
@folklore4818

@invernowie The eONE-SIXTY's are amazing. This video doesn't give you the realities you face with the larger chain stores. I have worked in one and know the way they operate. I have always wanted the best bang for my buck and when buying a bike I tend to think of all the upgrades I can do with that extra money. I now work alongside independent dealers and they are normally (not always) better trained, more willing to help and compassionate. Loyalty for the smaller shop is key to their businesses. Chain stores will cut the profit to virtually nothing just to recoup the trade value. Possibly why online shops like Wiggle made a £20m+ LOSS in 2018 and £17m+ LOSS in 2017. They love to discount. Evans also got saved and decided not to pay loads of its debts. So I would say that If you can afford to use a independent shop, then do so. You never know, if your honest with them and say that you had been thinking about using a large chain store but wanted to see if they can get close to the same price then they just might surprise you. The new eONE-SIXTY is out now and in shops so all bets are off.
