In your search for the 'Amalio Burguet' guitars you made a mistake as you were writing 'Burget'. Maybe that helps in finding the 'Burguet' guitars better. Bur anyway thumbs up for this video and your work.

thank you brother, I believe Burguet was not available on the website I shown regardless of spelling, but it was available on other websites. I'll be buying on of those in the future!

Thank you for this video. Very useful to know all of this. What is your opinion of the higher end cordoba range guitars in the Master series and luthier select ? Have you any experience with these and are they well respected with professional classical guitarists ?

Hi, yes Cordobas are nice guitars, and although I never had High end Cordoba, not to mention Luthier Select, I own Cordoba GK Studio and this guitar was doing very well in comparison with Alhambra Linea Pro. If you get Cordoba GK Pro Negra you’ll not be disappointed! The video with my Cordoba is here: kzitem.info/news/bejne/loCiyGuOb2N-knYsi=_KMaiYyrh7NZPlYY

@@GuitarGuru-AndyPaul Ok thinking more towards classical guitar not so much contemporary guitar. I always wonder if there are some hidden jems out there which are in this kind of price range of 2K that could compete with really high end concert guitars, your Alhambra for example of something a bit cheaper.

@@christofinb best thing you can do is go to Guitar Center or Chuck Levins store and spend an hour or so trying different guitars. They typically have trade ins that are good quality but relatively cheap, you can find good guitars in there and you'll make sure you like them before buying, also, you can negotiate price at these stores, so it's very possibe to find good deals for a good price!

You are not distinguishing between factory and hand made luthier guitars. Only first/second year students buy Alhambra guitars or just poor people. Instead of going to online retailers why don’t you go directly to the luthiers themselves? Are you on commission or something?
@GuitarGuru-AndyPaul

hola, not on commission, just sharing the info on how I bought a guitar from Spain directly since people asked me about it in the previous video about Linea Pro… Not sure what poor people buy $3000 guitar.., but if you have info on how to contact actual luthiers and buy something from them please share this info here! Thank you,

@@GuitarGuru-AndyPaul Here in Spain 🇪🇸 Alhambra is a well known factory made guitar, aimed at conservatory students on a budget, or the curious newcomer. Prices for this type of guitar range between 500 and 1.000 Euros. They do make higher ranges, concert, pro, luthier, but there is too much on offer by top level luthiers who hand craft guitars for them to be given serious consideration. I have never met a serious (Flamenco) guitarist with one, although it is possible, maybe some of the guys that hang out around the Albaicin in Granada playing rumbas for the tourists. Spain is choc a bloc full of top class prestigious luthiers, one under every stone, so the ‘corporate’ makes like Alhambra don’t get much of a look in, and they probably have good in house luthiers but nobody knows them by name, just the brand, so if you can buy a hand crafted guitar for less or same money by someone that made a guitar for Paco de Lucia, that is what you’re going to go with. Once you’re above student level you want a proper guitar, so you look at the pros to see what they play, as you will have certain preferences for the sound you want to emulate. So a young player new to the circuit like Jose Fermin Fernandez, incredibly fast and crystal clear, plays a Javier Castaño, he has several from this luthier, black and whites, some retail at just €2.000. Or you look at Antonio Rey, Vicente Amigo, or the old guys for the more traditional sounds. Those are online or retailer’s store prices. You can cut out the middlemen. Branded guitars like Alhambra don’t allow this, it is impersonal business, they are luthiers, owners plus the middlemen all in one. Where I live (Valencia) there are literally too many luthiers to visit them all and try everything out, Ramirez, Martinez, Esteve, Adalid, Juan Hernandez, Juan Montes….they all sell to the pros, past and present. A long tradition,Tarrega lived just up the road. Tarrega sometimes played a hybrid between classical and flamenca made locally. Of course you get the same in many Spanish cities, Jerez, Sevilla, Granada, Cadiz, Madrid, Toledo…. So once you have a rough idea of what you’re looking for, look up the sites of the actual luthiers, not retailers. You might need to do a little research but I already gave a few of the most prestigious ones, Valencia is known for having great luthiers along with Andalucian cities and towns, Granada, Madrid. Then just email the luthier and start a conversation. These are mostly family run ‘workshops’ - they dont like the term ‘fabrica’ obviously - so you’ll most likely be talking to a son who keeps the business going for the next generation.
