Excellent video, the concept is ostensibly straight forward but it's very easy to mess up these calculations. Have you been able to catch these trade opportunities in high volume ($5m equiv. per day) markets when they appear?

No, not at all. I really dont trade them as spend most of my spare time developing new ideas. Also agree, Triangular arbitrage is hugely risky if you are not experienced.

Hi. So in this scenario, we need to place limit order, right?
@77oxf
2 жыл бұрын
If we have a pair, let's call it Base/Quote and we want Quote, using your convention we want the "right". This means we're going long? If so, why do we multiply by the bid? If we're going long surely we're looking at the ask (price others are selling)?

Thanks for sharing this video. What asks and bids is best to use? I mean lowest, highest or what?
@CryptoWizards

If you are selling a coin, you will sell to the bid, if buying, buying from the ask. This gets quite complex, but go through this on the Triangular Arbitrage course if not seen it already, the exact calculation becomes clear.

Question : What if I start with BTC and want to end up with BTC following the sequence of pairs A->C->B , will the same rules apply?
@CryptoWizards
5 жыл бұрын
The same rules apply, as long as you know what you are looking to buy or sell and whether this is on the left or right of the equation. You can even test this out by doing a real life "thought experiment" to make sure you have the hang of it. Keep an eye out for tomorrow nights video, this will be VERY interesting to you I believe.

No, it works the same mathematically regardless. But if you start with say BTC and want to get back to USDT for example, then you would need an additional conversion.

Actually I wrote a code in python to calculate triangular arbitrage by considering this algorithm but the code never gave me higher than 0.05 % profit. by considering trading fees, it was always non-profitable. I tested it for about 24 hours on Binance and Poloniex but it was never profitable.Is it natural in triangular arbitrage or profitable situations to occur hourly or minutely? I would appreciate it if you could check my code and guide me.

@@danieldemesmaecker7836. The examples you provided just illustrate that you clearly don't know what you're talking about. You should take the time to actually listen and understand the concepts in the video, which op presumably put a lot of effort into, before criticising them. Your examples are different starting points not different orders. Every triangular arbitrage opportunity can follow one of two orders; from coin A -> B -> C -> A, or from coin A -> C -> B -> A, which is what op refers to as "forward" or "reverse". Note that in both cases you start with coin A and not B or C. Fee's are an important consideration in practice but they can be calculated independently of the arb calculation. It would be more complete to include fee's but then you complicate things for people trying to learn this for the first time.

@@turloughhughes4125 wtf. I don't know what I'm talking about? I have actually a working triangular arbitrage bot that makes money and don't need to post hypothetical video's while my own bot dosn't make any money. If his formula is so great why dosn't hé use it himself? Fees can't be calculated seperatly, that shows how mutch you know, it can to Just see if there's an opportunity, but not to make actually the trades.
