Does anyone know what the metal rings are for when put into the cement? Sorry, but I’ve never made one of these before. Is it for conduction or just for reinforcing the strength of the stove?

They are steel wire for reinforcing the cement when it is cured.

Instead of making the area where the ash drops into only go in halfway, why not put a longer piece of styrofoam to reach the other side? It’ll make it easier to get the styrofoam piece out once the cement is cured and when it’s time to clean the ash you can either use a leaf blower straight through or simply push it out to the opposite side … Just an idea! 😎👍✨
