When I looked, annual membership for Collingham Angling Association was £70.00, might have been needed to go night fishing at Cromwell Weir, pegs 1a to 4. and might have been booked. A nice video. Minor critique: Subtitle check "Bite Alarm" possibly not "Bike Alarm". My guess was that when slightly more water was streaming through, the peg (might have been 4) nearly opposite the lock end, might have been where big fish were with longish cast. Less water rushing through (seasonally summer) peg 1a more plausibly best.

How to catch big barbel in Cromwell....... cast out, and winch them in, clubbing season all year round

I don’t find it necessary to trim the anti-tangle sleeve to allow the loop in the hook length to pull through the pointed end when using then baiting needle.

I always assumed that the length of the hooklength was determined by how the line and lead will be entering the water, and then an increased distance from this to the bait, giving the fish less reason to spook away.
