In this video I will show how to catch one of the most sought after exotic species of fish that live in Florida. Midas cichlids (Amphilophus citrinellus) can be found throughout the canals and lakes of Miami-Dade County. These beautiful fish usually weigh less than 1 pound and any Midas cichlid over 2 pounds is a big one. I found that bread is the best bait to use to catch these fish. You can also catch them on lures such as jigs, lipless crankbaits, jerkbaits, and other lures. Midas cichlids are native to Central American countries such as Costa Rica and Nicaragua.
