You know, I’m glad to see you posting again, that was an absolute monster. That looks so much fun, any chance it’s possible to do that in February. Also, is it possible to hook sharks when deep dropping that deep? That looks so much fun
@SouthFloridaSaltwaterFishing

Yes it's possible. There's small sharks called dogfish out there sometimes

Hi Heath, I'm glad you're back. It looks like you need special gear to Tile fish correctly. Are they good to eat ? Say "Hi" to the Crew. Hope to see more videos. Take care, Mickey

Hi Mickey. Yes, you need an electric reel or it's not happening. Tilefish are delicious they have a unique flavor somewhat similar to lobster. Everyone says Hi. Hope all is well with you and the family. Take care. Talk to you soon.

I can try... Sword fishing involves a ton of time & heartbreak.... Using the tanacom 1000 isn't idea... You really should be using reels like the LP

Heath - a little off topic but when you want to suspend a live bait 20-30feet in the water column what is your leader set up ie a breakaway lead etc. can you pls advise or perhaps there is a video you made covering the topic and I missed it. Thank you
@SouthFloridaSaltwaterFishing

Haven't made a video covering that. What I'd do is use a 10 ounce bank sinker on a rubber band. Let out your desired distance 50-75 feet, use the rubber band to wrap around your line that way you can cut it off when retrieving. Wait for the bite. Leader depends on you main line... If your using braid you'll want about 75 feet of leader... If your using mono then you only need about 10 feet of leader. Hope this helps

Nice work. How are you cleaning the tanacoms?
@SouthFloridaSaltwaterFishing
3 ай бұрын
With fresh water from an adjustable hose nozzle, I soak the braid with the setting on shower mode, then I get the rest of the reel, the motor, handle, digital display, in mist mode... Then I dry it off. you don't really want to get this stuff too wet, so if you're out fishing, and it's getting soaked running you'll want to try and dry it off periodically. That way it lasts. I've had mine for about five or six years now and haven't had to have it serviced yet.

Nice fish! What lbs test is the braid line on your reel?
@SouthFloridaSaltwaterFishing

70 lb test braid.... But it's really hard to find... 80 or 60 works best for these reels

I don't own an electric reel! The grueling exercise for smaller fish(2).of deer field beach was my only and last tile fish fishing. And don't roll that rig :Hell Raising" stuff, right there..

Where I’m at I’d be in the Gulf Stream. Is that doable? Or is the current too strong?
@SouthFloridaSaltwaterFishing

It's definitely possible... You'll just have to use an 8 or 10 lb sash weight to get you down there

I can't believe you're at 700 ft while still able to see the buildings... I'd have to be WAY out there from the Cape.
